06/05/1967June 5, 1967 A meeting of the Board of Local improvements of the Village of Deerfield was called to order by the President in the Council Chambers of the Village Hall on Monday, June 5, 1967 at 8 :25 p.m. The secretary called the roll and reported that the following were Present: H. Ross Finney, President Raymond L. Craig Bernard Forrest George 'Ke lm Charles H. Raff George P. Schleicher Absent: Charles R. Bootz and that a quorum was present and in attendance at the meeting. Also present were Messrs. Richard Houpt, Village attorney, and Norris Stilphen, manager. 1st Resolution - Hovland A Resolution was presented setting June 26, ' Improvements- Hearing 1967 at 8:00 p.m, as the, time for a Public June 26, 1967 -8 P.M. Hearing on a local improvement consisting of draining, sanitary and storm sewers, water mains, and sanitary sewer and water services to lots with existing .residences on portions of Gordon Terrace, Laurel Avenue, Rosewood Avenue, Wilmot Road, Kenmore Avenue, Willow Avenue, Birchwood Avenue, Fairview Avenue and County Line Road. The engineer's estimate of the cost of the improvement, amounting to $356,899.88, was also presented. Mr. Craig expressed concern about the special assessment which would tend to "lock in" the existing lot and street pattern. Mr. Forrest moved that the Resolution be adopted. Seconded by Mr. Schleicher, and adopted by the follow ng vote: Ayes: Craig, Forrest, Kelm, Raff, Schleicher (5) Nays: None (0) The President and members signed the Resolution, and the President signed the Engineer's estimate of cost. Recommend Greenwood Sidewalk It was reported that notices regarding the Improvement by Special Tax construction of sidewalks had been sent to owners of property on Greenwood Avenue, and that cash or agreements had been rece4Ved from 70 of the 90 owners. In order that all property on Greenwood Avenue be improved with sidewalks, Mr. Craig moved that a recommendation by the Board of Local Improvements to the Board of Trustees be adopted for the passage of an Ordinance providing for the construction of sidewalks on the North and South sides of Greenwood Avenue. Seconded by Mr. Kelm and adopted by the following vote Ayes: Craig, Forrest, Kelm, Raff, Schleicher (5) Nays: None (0) The President and members signed the Recommendation. It was pointed out that owners are given thirty days after notice. is sent regarding passage of the Ordinance to arrange for construction of the sidewalks on a cash basis.. There being no further business to come before the Board of Local Improvements, on motion by Mr. Schleicher, seconded by Mr. Forrest, the meeting was adjourned at 8 :45 p.m. s'� Secretary d 1
