A meeting of the Board of Local Improvements of the Village
of Deerfield was called to order by the President in the Council
Chambers of the Village Hall on Monday, November 16, 1964 at 8 :25 p.m.
The secretary called the roll and reported the following were
Present: I. K. Hearn, President
John A. S. Lindemann
James E. Mandler
George P. Schleicher
James M. Wetzel
Absent: Ellis W. SMith
and that a quorum was present and in attendance at the meeting. Also
present were Messrs. Byron Matthews, Village attorney, and Norris Stilphen
manager.
Moved by Mr. Wetzel, seconded by Mr. Mandler, that minutes of the
meeting held November 2, 1964 be approved as submitted.
Motion carried unanimously.
Accept Bid -Geo. W. Kennedy The manager reported bids received
$41,392.50 - Greenwood November 2, 1964 for the construction
Storm Sewer S/A 101 of the Greenwood Interceptor Storm
Sewer had been referred to the engineers,
Charles Greengard ssociates, who recommended the contract be awarded to
the low bidder, George W. Kennedy. Mr. Mandler moved, seconded by Mr.
Lindemann, that the bid of George W. Kennedy in the amount of $41,392.50
for the construction of the Greenwood Interceptor Storm Sewer be accepted
and the contract be awarded. Adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Lindemann, mandler, Schleicher, Wetzel (4)
Nays: None (0
Approve Cert. of Cost The Certificate of Cost andLCompletion
CompletionS/A 102 for the improvement of Hemlock, Spruce,
Hemlock, Spruce, etc. Paving' Pine, Cedar Lane, Cedar Street, Juniper
and Arbor Vitae under Special Assess-
ment Warrant No. 102 was read, showing a total assessment of $89,548.25,
total assessment confirmed $85,719.68, a deficiency of $3,828.57, and a
request that the Court order the deficiency of $3,828.57 to be assessed
against the Village of Deerfield as public benefits. Mr. Mandler
moved, seconded by Mr. Wetzel, that the Board approve the Certificate.
Adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Lindemann, Mandler, Schleicher, Wetzel (4)
Nays: None '(0)
All members of the Board of Local Improvements then signed the
said Certificate.
Approve Voucher 6 7 Mr. Mandler moved, seamded by Mr.;..
S/A 102 Lindemann, th-at the Board approve the
issunace of Voucher No. 6 in the amount
of $604.58 to Ciooba, Spies, Gastafson and Company for engineering
services, and Voucher No. 7 in the amount of $20,271.75 to E. A. Meyer
Construction Company for work completed under Village of Deerfield Special
Assessment No. 102, the improvement of Hemlock, Spruce, Pine, Cedar Lane,
Cedar Street, Juniper and Arbor Vitae. Adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Lindemann, Mandler, Schleicher, Wetzel (4)
Nays: None (0)
There being no turther business to come before the Board of
Local Improvements, on motion by Mr. Wetzel, seconded by Mr. Mandler,
the meeting was adjourned at 8 :35 p.m.
