Ordinance - Vacation of The Park Board's petition was reVeived requesting Jonquil & Burton (0 -61 -7) vacation of Burton Avenue and Jonquil Terrace and an unnamed street in the former Franken Bros. Nursery property now owned by the Park District. An ordinance was - presented and read vacating said streets. Trustee Wehle moved, seconded by Trustee Aberson, that the rules be waived to permit passage of the said ordinance at its first presentation as an emergency measure. Motion carried unanimously. c Trustee Aberson then moved, seconded by Trustee Wehle, that the ordinance be adopted vacating said streets. Moved by Trustee Porter, seconded by Trustee Petesch, that minutes of the regular meeting held March 8, 1961 be approved and posted in the lobby for public inspection. Motion carried unanimously. Ordinance - Var.iation The Board of Zoning Appeals having recommended Reinhard -946 Central approval of the request of Mr. John Reinhard for 0-61 -8) a variation from side yard requirements at 946 Central Avenue, and the Board of Trustees concurring in such recommeridation, an ordinra ce was presented granting the variation. Trustee Peterson moved, seoonded by Trustee Petesch, that the rules be wbi.ved to permit permit a vote on said ordinance at its first presentation. A letter was received from Mr. Rix requesting No Curb & Gutter- Greenwood that the Board waive -the requirement for curb and gutter on Greenwood Avenue in the Rix - Ramskill Subidivision, since there are no plans for;the improvement of Greenwood Avenue, and to post bond for an indefinite period might interfere with the sale of property and be a hardship. Contracts for the sale of properties would be subject to special assessment. Sign - Christian Science Church Referred to STate A request was received from the First Church of Christ, Scientist, for a permit to erect a direct- ional sign at the Waukegan- Deerfield Road inter- section. The Manager was directed to inform them that permission for the sign should be -secured from the Division of Highways;,. and of approved, would then be taken under consideration by the Board. Ordinance - No Parking Trustee Aberson moved, seconded by Trustee Petsch, Chestnut St. 7 AM- 7:30PM that an ordinance be adopted amending the 0 -61 -9) Ordinance Regulating Traffic in the Village of Deerfield by adding to Section 5.01.NO PARKING PLACES a new sub - section 17, prohibiti;ng parking on Chestnut Street between Greenwood Avenue and Osterman Avenue between the hours of 7 A.M. and 7:30 P.M. The Manager reported Student Government Day would be held March 30, 1961 with students of the Deerfield HighSchool holding all village offices for that day. r. Garbage Truck Parking Complaints on the parking of garbage trucks at the Village garage site with garbage kept in the trucks overnight were investigated by the Health Officer Esther Giss, who recommended that the owners not be permitted to park trucks at the garage site due to poor sanitation proacticed by the owners. The problem was discussed at length, and the Manager was directed to contact Highland Park officials for permission to permit parking these trucks at the Highland Park land fill, and report to the Board. The Manager stated the garage lot will be cleaned up and shrubs planted t o screen the site from nearby residential property.
