The Manager reported briefly on a study of costs for providing sewerage
service to the Glenbrook Countryside Subdivision in Cook County based on
estimates for such services if annexed to the Village or if served as an
unincorporated area.
The Brick Company zoning question was discussed, and it was stated no
action would be taken by the Board of Supervisors until the September meeting.
Mr. Byron Matthews will discuss the Supreme Court decision on:.the Brick Company
zoning with the State's Attorney.
Upon motion by Trustee Peterson, seconded by Trustee Porter, the meeting
was adjourned to Wednesday, August 31, 1960 at 8 :00 P.M.

The adjourned meeting of the Board -of Trustees of the
Deerfield was called to order in the Council Chambers of the
Wednesday, August 31, 1960 at 8:30 P.M. The clerk called the

Moved by Trustee Wehle, seconded by Trustee Curto, that Trustee Peterson
be appointed President pro tem'. Motion carried unanimously.
Award Contraet- County Bids having been received on August 10th for con -
Line Sewer - DesPlaines struction of the East County Line Road sewer, Mr.
Engineering S33,422.22 Bowen, Village Engineeri . recommended the bid of
DesPlaines Engineering, the second bidder, be
accepted, due to difficulties in correlating the work of two contractors in the
same location with the installation of sewer and water mains. He also recommended
construction in the alternate location, with Red Seal Homes bearing the cost of
the alternate route.
Trustee Porter moved, seconded by Trustee Wehle, that the contract for
the installation of the East County Line Road sanitary sewer be awarded to Des
Plaines Engineering, in the amount of $33,422.22, provided that simultaneously
with the execution of the contract Red Seal Homes (Mr. Horwitz): deposi t.-,$6,884.31,
with the Village, this being the additional amount above the low bid of Scully,
Hunter $ Scully, and the alternate route-costs; and provided further that in
the event the final bill based on unit costs is less or more than the estimated

cost, any saving shall be refunded to, or additional costs shall be paid by
Red Seal Homes if the changes orrur as a result of the alternate route, but
if savings or increases are made in the original route, the Village shall deduct
such savings from the original base contract, or pay the additional costs. Adopted

Change Order - County Trustee Porter moved, seconded by Trustee Wehle, that
Line Water Main a Change Order be issued to DesPlaines Engineering
in the amount of $22,175.75, plus engineering flees
pf $1,220.76, for installation of the water main in the alternate location north
of County Line Road, provided that simultaneously with execution of the Change
Order, Red.Seal Homes (Mr. Horwitz) deposits with the Village the sum of $3,784.28,
this amount being the difference between the original contract and enginee ing
costs and the cost of the alternate routem and provided further that, in the event
the final bill based on unit prices is less or greater than the estimated costs,;
such savings shall accrue to or additional costs shall be paid by Red Seal Homes
(Mr. Horwitz) if these changes occur in the alternate route, or to the Village if

property to be conveyed by Deed simultaneously with the execution of a lease for the

officials, with approval by the Village Attorney, be authorized to enter into
a lease with the Board of Commissioners of Deerfield Park District for the residence
at 921 Wilmot Road at a rental of $175.00 per month for a term of two years, with
four automatic extensions, a total of ten years, the lessee being allowed to
terminate the lease upon six months prior notice of the expiration of the initial
term and each extension, the Village Attorney to check inhabitability liability
and related matters. Adopted by the following vote:

The dedication of 10 ft. for a deceleration strip plus 5 ft. for drainage

The request of Viking Realty for permission to install sanitary sewer and
water mains on Wayne Avenue to serve certain lots, with a recapture agreement was
tabled for study.
The attendance of the Manager at the Regional Strategic Seminar in Chicago
on September 23 and 24 was approved.
A letter was received from the SafetyCouncil regarding traffic control in
school areas. The Manager reported six crossing guards had been hired.
A petition was received from residents of Old Grove Subdivision requesting
the::Vi:I.lag�a'to install street lights. The Manager was directed to advise these
residents that it is not the policy of the Board to pay for such installations.
The request of the Village of Lincolnshire for Police telephone service through
the Deerfield Police Department and offer to pay $20 -$)25 per month for such service
was tabled for study.
