04/20/1960257 April 20, 1960 The adjourned meeting of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield was called to order by the President in the Council Chambers of the Village Hall on Wednesday, April 20, 1960 at 8 :05 P.M. The Clerk called the roll and reported the following were Present: Joseph W. Koss, President Absent: None and that a quorum was present and in attendance at the meeting. Also present John F. Aberson Frank T. Curto Matthews, Harold L. Peterson total Maurice:C. Petesch Pre Mix Patching Winston S. Porter: 536.00 Arno D. Wehle Absent: None and that a quorum was present and in attendance at the meeting. Also present Ayes: Aberson, Curto, Peterson, Petesch, Porter, Wehle (6) Nays: None (0) Ordinance - Special Election An ordinance was presented calling for a special $525,000 Sewer Bonds (0- 60 -11) election on May. 7, 1960 to vote on the issuance of $525,000 Sewer Bonds for the construction of improvements and extensions to the sewer system of the Village. Trustee Wehle rpoved, seconded by Trustee Petesch, that the ordinance be considered an emergency measure and the requirement of a second reading be waived. Adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Aberson, Curto, Peterson, Petesch, Porter, Wehle (6) Nays: None (0) Trustee Peterson moved, seconded by Trustee Wehle, that the special election ordinance be adopted. Upon roll call, the following vote was recorded: Ayes: Aberson, Curto, Peterson, Petesch, Porter, Wehle (6) Nays: None (0) The ordinance was declared adopted. MFTM Maint. Materials Bids wece received April 12, 1960 for the furnishing of maintenance materials under the Motor Fuel Tax program. Trustee Aberson moved, seconded.by Trustee Peterson, that bids of the low bidders be accepted as follows: Morton Salt Co. were Mr. Thomas Matthews, Village Attorney, and Mr. Norris Stilphen, Village total Manager. Baxter & Woodman, Engineers for the Village, Aggregate Sewer Improvements recommended acceptance of the low bid of total Pioneer Products RAF Crack Filler Wigert Construction Company, Franklin Park, 912.00 in the amount of $331,035 for the enlargement of the sewage treatment plant. 2.75 gal. Trustee Aberson moved, seconded by Trustee Wehle, that the low.bid of Wigert Constructi.6n be accepted, subject to completion of financing. Delete Doctor's Dentist's The Plan Commission recommended deletion of Doctor's Offices in R -6 and /or Dentist's offices as a permitted use in R -6 Tow - family Districts fronting on Deerfield-or Waukegan..Road. Trustee Porter moved, seconded by Trustee Curto,.that the Board concur in the recommendation of the Plan Commission, and that an ordinance be prepared to amend the zoning ordinance to effectuate this change. Adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Aberson, Curto, Peterson, Petesch, Porter, Wehle (6) Nays: None (0) Approve Preliminary Plat The Plan Commission recommended approval of the Koetz' Subdivision preliminary plat of Koetz' subdivision of 4 lots on Wilmot Road south of Greenwood Avenue. Trustee Curto moved, seconded by Trustee Aberson, that the Board approve said preliminary plat, as recommended by the Plan Commission. Adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Aberson, Curto, Peterson, Petesch, Porter, Wehle (6) Nays: None (0) Refer Page Resub, to Trustee Curto moved, seconded by Trustee Porter, Board of Zoning Appeals that the preliminary plat of Page's Resubdivision of 6 lots on Greenwood Avenue and Somerset be referred to the Board of Zoning Appeals for public hearing on a variation on lot frontages on four lots, the Plan Commission having rev1ewed said resub- division and recommended approval provided a variation is granted and proper side yards of existing buildings is maintained. Motion carried unanimously. Refer Christensen Sub.to Trustee Curto moved, seconded by Trustee Porter, Board of Zoning Appeals that the proposed subdivision of two lots at WA ]nut and Wayne, submitted by Carl Christensen, be referred to the Board of Zoning Appeals for public hearing on a variation on lot frontages and area vequirements, the Plan Commission having recommended approval after review, if the variation is granted. Adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Aberson, Curto, Peterson, Petesch, Porter, Wehle (6) Nays: None (0) Park Shop at Village Garage Site Trustee Aberson moved, se, welcome and was receptive pending approval of final The Manager reported the Park District has expressed interest in the possibility of the construction of the Park Shop building at the Village Garage site. :onded by Trustee Peterson, that the Board would to the idea of consolidation of such facilities, plans. C0 C� F---� 1 Approve Building Permit- Trustee Wehle moved, seconded by Trustee Aberson, North Suburban Church that the Board authorize the issuance of a building permit for the North Suburban Evangelical Free Church on County Line Road, as recommended by the Building Commissioner. Motion carried unanimously. Deny Building permit Trustee Petesch moved, seconded by Trustee Lassen Canppy Aberson., that the applicati on of Bjor Lassen for a bui Laing permit to erect a canopy for display purposes at 708 Waukegan Road be denied, as recommended by the Building Commissioner. Motion carried unanimously. Mr. Matthews,"Village Attorney, reported the Federal Appel-late Court had denied a petition for injunction filed by Progress Development Corporation seeking to restrain the Park District from proceeding with the condemnation suit in Lake County Court. After a discussion of matters of general interest with members of the audience, on motion by Trustee Aberson, seconded by Trustee Wehle, the meeting was adjourned.
