02/27/19591 3 1 Village C 1 erk February 27, 1959 A special meeting of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield was called to order by the President in the Council Chambers of the Village Hall on Friday, February 27, 1959 at 8 :30 P.M., pursuant to notice of said special meeting delivered to the President and Trustees on Wednesday, February 25, 1959. The Clerk called the roll and reported the following were Present: G. E. Holmquitt, President Joseph W. Brown Joseph W. Koss Maurice C. Petesch Arno D. Wehle Absent: Carl J. Jaeger Harold L: Peterson and that a quorum was present and in attendance at the meeting. Mr. Royce Owens, Village Manager, was also present. Resolution - Arterial Trustee Peterson moved, seconded by Trustee Streets - M.F.T. Wehle, that a resolution be adopted to add Warrington Road to approved arterial streets for Motor Fue kTax maintenance. Carried unanimously. Resolution - Bannockburn The matter of rezoning property in Bannockburn Rezoning (R -59 -1) adjoining the new High School site was discussed at length. Trustee Koss pointed out that Deer- field had cooperated with Bannockburn in all zoning matters, citing the use of Deerfield's jurisdictional controls in County zoning matters for the mutual protection of the two villages. He further.stated that Stanton & Rockwell were retained by both Villages as Planning Consultants, and copies of Deerfield's Master Plan, topographical maps, and other pertinent material had been made r available to Bannockburn without charge, and that he was unequivocally opposed to Bannockburn's commercial and industrial zoning adjoining the High School property. Trustee Petesch and Trustee Wehle stated they were in agreement with Trustee Koss. C� Trustee Koss moved, seconded by Trustee Wehle, that a resolution be adopted expressing the Board's disapproval of the contemplated rezoning as not being in the best interests of Deerfield's students, and-that copies of the resolution be sent to the Board of Trustees of Bannockburn and to the Board of Education of High School District #113. Adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Brown, Koss, Peterson, Petesch, Wehle (5) Nays: None (0) There being no further business to come before the meeting, on motion by Trustee Koss, seconded by Trustee Peterson, the meeting was adjourned. The President read the notice of meeting,-, which has been made a part of this record. He stated that the- Building Permit for a residence on Lot 2, Albert J. Schmit Resubdivision, approved by the Board at the meeting held February 24, 1959, had been held up at his request for surther study. He then read his letter addressed to the Board of Trustees giving, the reasons for his action, Which letter was made a part of this record. The matter was discussed at length. Mr. Winston Porteen, Chairman of the Plan. Commission, stated that the Plan Commission had recommended purchase of the lot in question more than three years ago'. President Holmquist then stated he was lifting the stop order on the Building'Permit for Lot 2, Schmit Resubdivision, and the Village Manager was instructed to notify the applicant, Mr. Rossett, of the action -taken by the Board, and to re- schedule the public hearing on the billboard appli- cation if Mr. Rossett so desires, expressing regret for the delay.- There being no further busi.ness to come before the meeting, on motion by Trustee<Petesch, seconded'by:Trustee Wehle, the meeting was adjourned.
