11/26/1958110 November 26., 1958 The adjourned meeting of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield was called to order by the President in the Council Chambers of the Village Hall on Wednesday, November 26, 1958 at 8:00 P.M. The Clerk called the roll and reported the following were Present: G. Eldon Holmquist, President Joseph W. Brown Harold L. Peterson Maurice C. Petesch Absent: Carl J. Jaeger Joseph W. Koss Arno D. Wehle and that a quorum was present and in attendance at the meeting. Mr. Royce Owens, Village Manager, was present also. On motion by Trustee Petesc4, seconded by Trustee Peterson, reading of the minutes of the November 19, 1958 adjourned meeting was dispensed with. Motion carried unanimously., Purchase Air Compressor Trustee Brown moved, seconded by Trustee Peterson, Shuster Equip. Co.,- $4445 that a Davey Air Compressor Model #125 and tools be purchased from Shuster Equipemtn Company, Chicago, at their bid pr -ice of $4445.00. Adopted by the following vote: Ayes:. Brown, Peterson, Petesch, Holmquist (4) Nays: None (0) Purchase Spreader Trustee Peterson moved, seconded by Trustee Shuster Equip. Co. - $465 Brown, that a Baughman Mate'rial'Spreader be purchased from Shuster Equipment Company, Chicago, at their bid price of $465.00, as recommended by the Superintendent-of Public Works. Adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Brown, Peterson, Petesch, Holmquist (4) Nays: None (0) Award Contract - Garage' Trustee,Peterson moved, seconded by Trustee Brown, Addition, Field t; Shi l ler that the contract for the addi:tbon to the Village $32,275 Garage, including Alternates 3, 5, 6, 79 8A and 9, be awarded to Field & Schiller, Highland Park, at their bid price of $32,275.00, construction time of 90 days. Adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Brown, �eterson, Petesch, Holmquist (4) Nays: None ( ) Administrative Review The Village Manager recommended that Mr. Frank Approved Koehler, Administrative Assistant of Highland Park, be employed for an administrative review at a salary of $550 per month,'on a contractual basis, for as long'a period as necessary. Trustee Petesch::moved; seconded by Trustee Brown, that Mr. Koehler be employed as recommended. Adopted by the following vote' Ayes: Brown, Peterson, Petesch, Holmquist (4) Nays:. None (0) Change - County Line Sewer The Village Manager reported it was necessary to lower the County Line Road sanitary sewer east of the Railroad to serve property owned by Mr. Horwitz, and that E. & N. Sewer Contractors had objected to said order due to additional costs incurred in connection with driveways. He stated Mr. Horwttz had agreed to pay the additional costs, the Village to act only as payint agent. Trustee Brown moved, seconded by Trustee Peterson, that the Change Order by confirmed, at the price negotiated, Mr. Horwitz to pay the additional cost. Adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Brown, Peterson, Petesch, Holmquist (4) Nays: None (0) Approve Deerfield Pk. 3rd Mr. .Harold Friedmag, Chicago Construction Company, Addition, Unit #1 having agreed to dedicate to the Deerfield Park District Lot A and 70 ft, of Lot 6 for school and park purposes, after the-plat is recorded, Trustee Brown moved, seconded by Trustee Peterson,,that the plat of Third Addition to Deerfield Park Sub- division, Unit #l, be approved, executed and recorded. Adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Brown, Peterson, Petesch, Holmquist (4) C0 Nays: None (0) Deerfield Rd. Widening Trustee Peterson moved, seconded by Trustee Brown, that the Village Manager be instructed to write Mr. Amstutz, Lake County Highway Department, re- affirming the Board's opposition to,widening Deerfield Road to 4 lanes, and protesting any widening beyond a 35 ft. roadway, as previously stated by the Board. Adopted by the following vote: 1 Ayes: Brown, Peterson, Petesch, Holmquist (4) Nays: None (0) Dedication - Blietz- Nixon The Village Manager'reported a letter had been received from Messrs. Blietz and Nixon, agreeing to dedicate 10%.of the entire tract of approximately 220 acres for public purposes. Trustee Peterson moved, seconded by Trustee Brown,,that, the letter be received and filed. Adopted by the - following vote: Ayes: Brown,.-Peterson, Petesch, Holmquist (4) Nays: None (0) Return Bid Bonds Trustee Peterson moved, seconded by-Trustee'Brown, Garage Addition that the bid bonds and checks be returned to the unsuccessful bidders-on the garage addition, upon receipt of the performance bond from Field & Schiller, the successful bidder. Motion carried unanimously. Radio Tower Application The Village.Manager reported that an application had been filed with the Federal Communications Commission for a radio tower on the National Brick Company property. Trustee Petesch moved, seconded by Trustee Browq, that.-the Village Manager advise . the Federal Communications Commiss,Uon.of the Village of Deerfield's request for a 90 day period in which to'study the matter-.
