October 1, 1958
The adjourned meeting of the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Deerfield was called to order by the President in the Council
Chambers of the Village Hall on Wednesday, October 1, 1958 at 8:00 P.M.
The Clerk called the roll and reported the following were
Present: G. Eldon Holmquist, President
Joseph W. Brown
Carl J. Jaeger
Joseph W. Koss
Harold L. Peterson
Maurice C. Petesch
Arno D. Weh1e
Absent: None
and that a quorum was present and in attendance at the meeting. Mr. Owens,
Village Manager, was also present.
Moved by Trustee Peterson, seoonded by Trustee Wehle, that reading
of the minutes of the d0journed meeting held September 24, 1958 be dispensed
with, Carried unanimously.
Bids - Chestnut Street The Village Manager reported the following
Paving bids had been received on September 29, 1958
for completing the pavement on north Chestnut

The bids were referred to Charles Greengard Associates, who recommended that
the contract':be awarded to the low bidder, Peter Baker & Son Co.
Award Contract to Trustee Peterson moved, seconded by Trustee
Peter Baker & Son Co. Brown, that the contract for Chestnut Street
paving under the Motor Fuel Tax Law be awarded
to Peter Baker & Son Co. at the bid price of x#3518.60, subject to approval by
the State of 11iinois. Adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: 3rown, Jaeger, Koss, Peterson, Petesch, llehle (6)
Nays: done (0)
Lift Stop Orders Construction of houses on lots including
Lots 20, 21, Brookside Sub. drainage ditch easements was discussed a
length. Trustee �.'ehle moved, seconded by
"trustee ?eterson, that stop orders on house construction of Lots ?_C anc Jl,
Brookside Subdivision be lifted, sewer connection corrections to be ma(".,
and issuance at building permits be Birchwood Builders be authorized. ('opt -_e

Nays: Koss (1)
Ordinance - Bus Zone Trustee Petesch moved, seconded by Trustee
Parking, Sat., Sun. & Wehle, that an ordinance be adopted permitting
Holidays (0- 58 -48) parking in bus zones on Saturdays, Sundays,
and holidays, and establishing penalties for
violations thereof. Adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Brown, Jaeger, Koss, Peterson, Petesch, Wehle (6)
Nays: None (0)
There being no further business to come before the meeting, on
motion by Trustee Petesch, seconded by Trustee Jaeger, the meeting was
adjourned.
