The regular meeting of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Deerfield was called to order by the Presiddnt in the Council Chambers of
the Village Hall on Wednesday, May 14, 1958 at 8:00 P.M. The Clerk called the
roll and reported the following were

and that a quorum was present and in attendance at the meeting:
On motion by Trustee Wehle, seconded by Trustee Petesch, minutes of
the adjourned meeting held April 30, 1958 were approved as submitted.

Approve Reports The reports of the Building Vommissioner, Fire
Marshal and Health Officer were approved.
The Police report, submitted by the Chief of Police showing 122 arrests
and fines of $1,196.00, was approved.

Attorney Authorized in Mr. Owens, Village Manager, reported a suit had
Tessaro Suit been filed by Tessaro Construction Company. Trustee
T Wehle moved, seconded by Trustee Jaeger, that the
Village Attorney, Thomas A. Matthews, be instructed to defend the Village of
Deerfield, Mr. Owens., Building Commissioner Behrendt, and Building Inspector
Root in the suit filed by Tessaro Construction Company. Adopted by the
following vote:
Ayes: Brown, Jaeger, Peterson, Petesch, Wehle (5)

Ordinance - Zoning Amendment Trustee Brown moved, seconded by Trustee Peterson,
SE Quadrant (0- 58 -21) an ordinancb:,be adopted amending the zoning
ordinance be classifying areas in the Southeast
Quadrant of the Village in the R -1, R -1 -A, R -2, and R -4 One family Districts,
R -6 Two family District, 0 & R Office and Research District and M- Manufacturing
District and 6-1 Neighborhood Business District, as shown on the map made a
part of the ordinance, Adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Brown, Jaeger, Peterson, Petesch, Wehle (5)

Ordinance - 100 AMP Trustee Brown moved, seconded by Trustee Wehle,
Service (0- 58 -22) that an ordinance ne adopted requiring installation
of 100 Amp electric service in all dwelling units
hereafter constructed in the Village,,and providing penalties for violations
thereof. Adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Brown, Jaeger, Peterson, Petesch, Wehle (5)

Ordinance - Salary Range Trustee Petesch moved, seconded by Trustee Jaeger,
Police Capt. & Lieut. that an ordinance be adopted amending Ordinance
(0-58-23) #200, "Salary Ordinance ", by establishing the
salary range of 31 for Police Captain and 30 for
Police Lieutenant. ADopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Brown, Jaeger, Peterson, Petesch, Wehle (5)
Nays: None (0)
Approve Sign - Deerfield The Board of Zoning Appeals recommended that Deerfield
Development Co. Development Company be permitted to erect a sign
on the Phil Johnson property- on Waukegan Road,
approximately 800 feet South of County Line Road. Trustee Peterson moved,
seconded by Trustee Wehle, that the Board concur in the recommendation of the
Board of Zoning Appeals, and the erection of the 10 x 20 ft. sign be approved.
Carried unanimously.
The proposed subdivision plat of three tracts in Landis Subdivision were
referred to the Plan Commission for consideration.
Decision was made that the President publish the Proclamation restricting
sprink'ling in the Village of Deerfield, to become effective ater publication on
May 22, 1958.
A group of Chestnut Street residents were present, and objected to No Parking
restrictions on Chestnut Street, as considered by the Board. They proposed the
Chestnut Street be widened, and parking be permitted.
There being no further business to come before the meeting, on motion by
Trustee Brown, seconded by Trustee Petesch, the meeting was adjourned.
