Upon reconvening, the Village Manager stated the Board did not wish
to change the decision previously stated, bu t may reconsider the matter at
the April meeting, and recommended that the contractor do everything possible
to make the costs of relocation less, but the building must be moved back to
conform with the established building line required by Village Ordinance.
Mr. Engber stated he would recommend that his client move the building in
accordance with the Board's decision.
Trustee Jaeger moved, seconded by Trustee Peterson, that the meeting
be adjourned to Wednesday, March 26, 1958 at 8:00 P.M. Carried unanimously.

The adjourned meeting of the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Deerfield was called to order by the President in the Council Chambers
of the Village Hall on Wednesday, March 26, 1958 at 8:00 P.M. The Clerk called
the roll and reported the.following were

and that a quorum was present and in attendance at the meeting.
President Holmquist welcomed students from the High School who were
attending the meeting in preparation for Student Government Day.
Approve Variance -SE' Lot 61 The report of the Board of Zoning Appeals
Goldman!"s:.Subdivision recommended that a variance be granted to permit
the construction of a two - family residence on
the Southeast 1/2 of Lot 61, (55 ft.) Goldman's North Shore Golf Links Sub-
division. Trustee Koss moved, seconded by Trustee Brown, that the Board concur
in the recommendation of the Board of Zoning Appeals, and an ordinance be
prepared granting said variance. Adopted by the following vote:

Approve Variance - Socony The Board of Zoning Appeals recommended that a
Station, 15 ft. Rear lot variance be granted in the interests of public

WHEREAS, the property petitioned for rezoning lies within one and
one -half miles of the corporate limits of the Village of Deerfield; and
WHEREAS, a comprehensive {development plan is being prepared by the
said Village for the one and one -half mile area adjacent to said Village;
and
WHEREAS, said plan does not include business zoning in any area zoned
and at present developed as residential property;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Deerfield that the Zoning Board of Appeals be requested to
recommend denial of said petition; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be sent to
Mr. Samuel Sorenson, Chairman, Zoning Board of Appeals, to Mrt Garfield Leaf,
County Clerk, and to Mr. Emmett Moroney, Chairman, County Board of Supevisors.

Resolution - Beeson The Plan Commission recommended denial of
Variance - Lake County Lake County Permit Application # 19594 sub-
mitted by C. Beeson for a variance to permit

east corner of Half Day and Waukegan Roads, in Lake County. Trustee Koss
moved, sdconded by Trustee Jaeger, that inasmuch as the Village of Bannock-
burn had not filed an objection to the said application, the following
resolution be adopted:
RESOLVED, by the President and Boadd of Trustees of the Village of
Deerfield that the application of C. Beeson for a variance to permit the
construction of a greenhouse, potting room and boiler room, as covered in
Lake County Permit Application #19594, be approved, and that a copy of this
resolution be sent to Mr. H. J. Carlson, Lake County Department of Building
and Zoning.

Approve Conditional Use The Plan Commission recommended that a Conditional

ordinance be prepared authorizing the ConditionalUse.
Carried unanimously.
Approve Conditional Use The Plan Commission recommended that a Conditional
Wilmot- Woodland Park School Use be authorized for District #110 Wilmot -
Woodland Park School. Trustee Koss moved,
seconded by Trustee Petesch, that the Plan Commission's recommendation be
approved, and an ordinance be prepared authorizing the Conditional Use.

Receive Petitions Re: President Holmquist acknowledged receipt of
Sale.of.Antes Property petitions signed by 594 residents of the Village
For Town! Hall & Library and Township requesting the Board to sell the
North 75 feet of the Antes property to the Town-
ship and Library for a minimum price. The petitions were ordered placed on
file.
Set Price - $30,000 Trustee Koss moved, seconded by Trustee Brown,
N. 75 ft. Antes Property that the Village sell to the Township the full
depth of the North 75 feet of the former Antes
property for $30,000, the Village having agreed that the hole will be filled,
the rear portion of the property brought to grade, improved parking facilities
installed to the south :Iot..Ti,nq of the property to be sold, and a retaining
wall constructed on the North add West sides of the property, all at Uillage
expense.
Messrs. Norbert Dompke, Berger Larson, Karl Berning and Mrs. Loarie
asked that the Village consider a lower price. The matter was discussed
at length.

Sewer Cleaning Contract Trustee Brown moved, seconded by Trustee Koss,
to American Pipe Cleaning that, in accordance with the recommendation of
the Sewer Committee, the contract be awarded to
the low bidder, American Pipe Cleaning Company, to clean approximately 22,000
lineal feet of trunk sewers. Adolted by the following vote:

Resolution - Pours of Work Trustee Jaeger moved, seconded by Trustee
Village Employees Petesch, that the follovvkng resolution be
adopted:
BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Deerfield that the Village Manager be and is hereby instructed
to establish hours of work for all Village employees, such hours to be in
full force and effect not earlier than three days after written notice
to the President and Board of Trustees; provided however, that upon receipt
of written objection by the President or any member of the Board of Trustees
such hours of work shall be suspended until reviewed by the Board at a
regular or special meeting.
