05/20/1957209 May 20, 1957 The adjourned meeting of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield was called to order by the President in the Council Chambers of.-the Village Hall on Monday, May 20, 1957 at 8:00 P.M. The Clerk called the roll and reported the following were Absent: None and that a quorum was present and in attendance at the meeting. Clarification of Agenda President Holmquist explained the procedure Procedure to be followed in making up the agenda. .Trustee Petesch moved, seconded by Trustee Jaeger, that the agenda be made up on Thursday preceding the meeting and delivered to the Board on Friday; that any item to be included be on the desk of the Village Manager by Thursday noon, and that the Board go on record as being grateful for any information from the public. Adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Brown, Jaeger, Koss, Peterson, Petesch, Wehle (6) Nays: None (0) Accent Underground Improvem8nts Trustee Peterson moved, seconded by Trustee Units 4 & 5. Deerfield Park Sub. Brown, that the underground improvements in Units 4 and 5, Deerfield Park Subdivi6iom, be accepted and approved by the Village, subject to the one year maintenance provision, in order that payment for said improvements may be made. Adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Brown, Jaeger, Koss, Peterson, Petesch, Wehle (6) Nays: Done (0) Approve Payment - $2.851.49 Trustee Brown moved, seconded by Trustee Wyatt & Coons - 10" Water Main Jaeger, that payment of 02,851.49 to Wyatt and Coons be approved, this being the Village's share of the cost of installing a 10 inch water main in Forest Park Subdivision, in place of the 6 inch main - originally approved. Adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Brown, Jaeger, Koss, Petersen., Petesch, Wehle (6) Nays: None (0) Ordi ce - Hughes Variance Trustee Koss moved, seconded by Trustee (0-21-57) Wehle, that an ordinance be adopted granting a variance to permit James E. Hughes to construct a residence 35 feet from the rear lot line on Lot 3, Bergmann's Gatewood Subdivisions Adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Brown, Jaeger, Koss, Peterson, Petesch, Wehle (6) Nays: None (0) Ordinance - Variance St. Paul's Trustee Koss moved, seconded by Trustee Brown, Church 0-22- that an ordinance be adopted granting a variance to permit the construction of an addition to St. Paul's Church, 638 Waukegan Read, within 1 foot of the south lot line.. Ayes: Brown, Jaeger, Koss, Nays: None (0) Trustee Brown moved, seconded by Trustee Peterson, that a post card questionnaire be mailed to residents of the Village and the Village M2nager be authorized to Adopted by the following vote: Peterson, Petesch, wehle (6) Aporove Poppy 'Jay - May 24 Trustee Jaeger moved, seconded by Trustee Petesch, that the request of the American Legion Auxiliary to sell poppies on May 24, 1957, he granted. Carried unanimously. Commend Police Officers Trustee Petesch stated Officers Crumpler and Hall merited public commendation for outstanding police work in conneatian-Vith the apprehension of a known sex offender in attempting forcible entry into a Deerfield residence. He intro- duced Chief Petersen and Officers Crumpler and Hall, and stated that every man in the Department was giving time over and above their regular duties. He urged that the Board give consideration to the employment of additional men to provide 24 hour radio service through the Deerfield desk, rather th4n through the Sheriff's office, as is done at present, and to insure at least two men on duty at all times. Members of the audience expressed their approval of these proposals. On motion by Trustee Petesch, seconded by Trustee Peterson, and carried unanimously, the meeting was adjourned to Monday, May 2791957 at 8:00 P.M. attest: Village Clerk 1 1 1
