The adjourned meeting of the Board of Trustees,of the Village of Deer-
field was called to order in the Council Chambers of the Village Hall on Monday,
February 25, 1957 at 8:00 P.M. the Clerk called the roll and reported the
following were
Present: Joseph W. Brown
Martha White Clark
Carl J. Jaeger
Hubert N. Kelley
Raymond T. Meyer
Maurice C. Petesch
Absent: John D. Schneider, President
and that a quorum was present and in attendance at the meeting.
It being a continuation of the February 11th meeting, Trustee Meyer
presided as President pro tem.
_Bid Date Landscaping No bids were received for landscaping the
March 11, 1957 Village Hall site. The Board extended the
time for return of bids to March 11, 1957 at
8:00 P.M, the time of the regular meeting of the Village Board.
Receive Plan Commission The Plan Commission's recommendations regarding
Report - Industrial Zoning industrial rezoning, a new use district, and
amending various sections of the zoning ordinance
was read. Mrs. Willard Loarie asked if it would not be d &sirable to refer the
report back to the Plan Commission for additional public hearings when substantial
changes are made in zoning. Trustee Clark reported that 42 letters were received
opposing further industrial zoning, and one letter in favor of such rezoning.
Trustee Clark moved, seconded by Trustee Brown, that the Plan Commission retort
be received, --nd tubled for further study, with action to be taken at the earliest
possible time.
Carried unanimously.
Election Ordinance Trustee Kelley moved, seconded by Trustee Petesch,
10 - 3 - 57) that an ordinance be enacted calling for a
regular election to be held April 16, 1957 to
elect a village president, village clerk, and three trustees. Adopted by the
following vote:
Ayes: Brown, Clark, Jaeger, Kelley, Meyer, Petesch (6)
Nays: None (0)
Authorize President Pro tem Trustee Kelley moved, seconded by Trustee Jaeger,
to Sign Ordinance tir at the President pro tem be authorized to
sign the election ordinance. Adopted by the
following vote:
Ayes: Brown, Clark, Jaeger, Kelley, Meyer, Petesch (6)
Nays: None (0)
