Mr. Seth Gooder notified the Board that during his absence from the
Village, Central Avenue abutting his part-of his property had been vacated
without his knowledge or consent. He stated street construction was started
in a new location, and questioned the legality of the street dedication, since
his property had frontage on Central Avenue for many years, and assessments
had been paid.
Mr. Louis Ancell, attorney representing theChicago Construction
Company, developers of Deerfield Park Subdivision, asked that the stop
order on street construction in Central Avenue be withdrawn, since the
Subdivision had been approved with only one half street. Mr. Rupp stated
the Village would like the whole street paved at one time, and he was trying
to get the consent of abutting property owners to pave the remainder at this
time.. Mr. Freidman stated he had been notified by the Village Enginner that
he would be required to put in a 10" water main in Wilmot Road, although no
houses would front,•on:Wilmo.t, and would be sorved by mains in the street to
the east of Wilmot. The Board agreed to allow the curb on Central Avenue to
be put in, and the Village Manager would attempt to work out the improvement
of the entire street.
On motion by Trustee Brown, seconded by Trustee Kelley, the meeting
was adjourned to May 28, 1956 at 8:00 P.M.

The adjourned meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Deer-
field was called to order in the Council Chambers of.the Village Hall on
Monday, May 28, 1956 at 8:00 P.M. The Clerk called the roll and reported that
the following were

Hubert N. Kelley
Raymond T. Meyer
Maurice C. Petesch
Absent: John H. Schneider, President
and that a quorum was present add in attendance at the meeting.
t. On motion by Trustee Brown, secodded by Trustee Petesch, Trustee Kelley
was appointed president pro tem.
Approve Refunds, Mr. Rupp, Village Manager, stated Keno Construction Company
had asked for a refund of Buildigg Permit fees for the
additions to Maplewood and Kipling Schools, said refund to be turned over to
the School Board. The Board approved this refund, including any fees paid for
'plumbing permits. The Board also approved a refund of the $100 subdivision
filing fee paid by Derrland Associates.
Decision was made to give help to the Chamber of Commerce in installing
flag brackets in the business district, but the Village would accept no respon-
sibility for putting up or taking down the flags.
Mr. Roy Davis requested the Board to allow the issuance of a building
permit for one residence in Greenwood Park, Trustee Meyer moved, seconded by
Trustee-Brown, that Mr. Davis' request be denied, and no building permits be
issued until the subdivision is approved. Carried unanimously.
There being no furhher business to come before the meeting, the meeting
was adjourned.
