03/12/1956106 March 12, 1956 The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield was called to order by the President in the Council Chambers of the Village Hall on Monday, March 12, 1956 at 8:00 P.M. I'he Clerk called the roll and reported that the following were Present: John D. Schneider, President Joseph W. Brown Martha White Clark Carl J. Jaeger Hubert N. Kelley Maurice C. Petesch absent: Raymond T. Meyer and that a quorum was present and in attendance at the meeting. Minutes of the regular meeting held February 13, 1956, and the adjourned meeting held February 27, 1956 were approved. Petersen, showing 56 cases and fines of $534.00 for the month of February, 1956, was approved. Health Officer Esther Giss' report ►gas approved. The report of the Building commissioner for February 1956'was approved. Mr. Thomas Matthews, Village Attorney, reported that, of the three zoning cases filed against the Village of Deerfield, one had been set for April 18, 1956, and the other two had been referred to a special Master in Chancery. Adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Brown, Clark, Jaeger, Kelley, Petesch (5) Nays: None (0) 108 The Board authorized the Village Manager to purchase safety tires for the new Police Department station wagon at the lowest bid . _Approve $10000 Blanket Two bids were received for a $10,000 faithful Bond -_Village Employees performance blanket bond to cover all Villge $368.19 employees, as follows: COMPANY COST TERM United Pacific $368.19 3 years Ohio Casualty $427.08 3 years Trustee Jaeger moved, seconded by Trustee Petesch, that the $10,000 bond be placed with the United Pacific Company at a cost of $368.19 for the three year term. Adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Brown, Clark, Jaeger, Kelley, Petesch (5) Nays: None (0) Authorize Plans & Specs. Mr. Rupp, Village Manager, reported that a Chestnut St. Improvement letter of agreement had been received from Greenwood to Telegraph Universal Construction Company for the improve- ment of Chestnut Street in Woodland Manor Sub- division at the lo,:.est bid prise. He stated Mr. Roy Davis, developer of Greenwood Park Subdivision, had agreed orally to the improvement of Chestnut Street from Greenwood to his north property line. He further stated the Village's share of this improvement would be under $6000, plus engineering costs. Trustee Brown moved, seconded by Trustee Kelley, that Charles W. Greengard, Engineer, be authorized to proceed with plans and specifications for the improvement of Chestnut Street from Greenwood Avenue to Telegraph Road, r•.nd to obtain bids for the improvement. subject to obtaining a letter of agreement from Mr. Davis, and escrow agreements to cover the cost of the construction. adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Brown, Clark, Jaeger, Kelley, Petesch (5) Nays: None (0) Resignation - Earl Varner A letter of resignation was receeved from Fire Marshal Mrq Earl Varner, Fire Marshal, effective February 29, 1956. Trustee Petesch moved, seconded by Trustee Jaeger, that the resignation of Mr. Varner be accepted with regret. Carried unanimously. The Village Manager reported the Chicago Motor Club had agreed to make a school crossing protection survey, and maps had been printed to be filled out by parents showing routes taken by children. Ordinance - $20 Plan Trustee Clark moved, seconded by Trustee Jaeger, Review Fee - Building that an ordinance be adopted providing for Permits payment of a $20.00 review fee upon appli- cation for a wilding Permit, effective March 15, 1956. 6dopted by the following vote: Ayes: Brown, Clark, Jaeger, Kelley, Petesch (5) Nays: None (0) Ordinance Amending Trustee Clark moved, seconded by Trustee Kelley, Zoning Ordinan ce that an ordinance be adopted amending the Zoning Ordinance by adding a new R -1 -A One - family District, and making changes in lot size, side yard requirements, and house size in certain districts. Adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Brown, Clark, Jaeger, Kelley, Petesch (5) Nays: None (0) On motion by Trustee Jaeger, seconded by Trustee Kelley, the meeting was adjourned.
