WHEREAS, the Village of Deerfield, Illinois, is a municipality exercising Home
Rule Powers pursuant to the Constitution of the State of Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the Corporate Authorities of the Village of Deerfield have directed
the Plan Commission of the Village of Deerfield to conduct a review of those portions of
the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Deerfield which deal with the use of land within
the C -1, Village Center zoning district; and
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission has held a public hearing on the amendment
of the C -1, Village Center District regulations and has forwarded their recommendation
regarding the modification of said regulations to the Corporate Authorities; and
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission's recommendation concerning the
modification of the provisions governing the use of land zoned C -1, Village Center
District is now pending before the Corporate Authorities; and
WHEREAS, the Corporate Authorities of the Village of Deerfield have directed
the Village Center Development Commission to review the recommendation of the Plan
Commission as to the revisions of such regulations; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the Village of Deerfield that no
applications for Zoning Certificates of Compliance be accepted or approved, or
Building Permits be accepted or approved for tenant improvement work for uses not
previously established within the C -1, Village Center District pending the review of the
Plan Commission's recommendation and receipt and review of the recommendation of
the Village Center Development Commission by the Corporate Authorities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That a moratorium be declared on the acceptance of applications
ONE: for Zoning Certificates of Compliance or for the acceptance or
approval of Building Permits for tenant improvement work for uses
not previously established within the C -1, Village Center District within the Village of
Deerfield pending action by the Corporate Authorities on the above described Plan
Commission recommendation and Village Center Development Commission
recommendation.
SECTION That said moratorium shall remain in full force and effect until
TWO: rescinded by action of the Corporate Authorities and, in any
event, shall terminate on October 5, 1997 (90) days from the date
hereof unless extended by action of the Corporate Authorities.
