WHEREAS, the Village of Deerfield and the Village of
Riverwoods have previously entered into an agreement dated
February 8, 1985 and known as the "Deerfield /Riverwoods Water
Agreement" in order to provide for the transmission of water from
the City of Highland Park through the Village of Deerfield to the
Village of Riverwoods upon certain terms and conditions therein
contained; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Riverwoods has designed a new
transmission and storage facility to increase the capacity of the
Village of Riverwoods water system and to serve newly developed
areas of the Village of Riverwoods; and
WHEREAS, Village of Riverwoods and the Village of Deerfield
wish to enter into an agreement known as the "First Amendment to
Deerfield /Riverwoods Water Agreement" to provide for the
transmission of the additional water referred to in the previous
recital; and
WHEREAS, the corporate authorities of the Village of
Deerfield have determined that the First Amendment to
Deerfield /Riverwoods Water Agreement is in the best interest of
the Village of Deerfield.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That the First Amendment to Deerfield /Riverwoods
ONE: Water Agreement attached hereto between the
Village of Deerfield and the Village of Riverwoods
be and the same is hereby approved.
SECTION That the President and Village Clerk of the

directed to execute said First Amendment to
Deerfield /Riverwoods Water Agreement.
