A RESOLUTION RELATING TO THE RELOCATION OF
UNDERGROUND UTILITIES ON LAKE COOK ROAD
WHEREAS, the Village of Deerfield (VILLAGE) and the Cook County
Department of Highways (COUNTY) have negotiated the cost of relocating Village
underground utilities in connection with the Lake Cook Road /Metra Railroad Underpass
Project; and
WHEREAS, agreement has been reached on the method of payment for the
cost of said utility relocations:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND
BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD:
SECTION That the Village authorizes an expenditure of $233,150 to

Cook Road /Metra Railroad Underpass Project, said amount to be
paid in equal installments over a three year period.
SECTION That the Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized to sign an

THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD
AGREEMENT
LAKE COOK ROAD AT Metra
WEST OF WAUKEGAN ROAD
Section: 85- A65021 -04 -GS
THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into by and between THE
COUNTY OF COOK, a body politic and corporate of the State of
Illinois, hereinafter called "COUNTY ", and the Village of
Deerfield, a Municipal Corporation within Cook County, Illinois
hereinafter called "VILLAGE ".
WITNESSETH
THAT, WHEREAS THE County proposes to improve Lake Cook Road,
and
WHEREAS the Village and the County mutually agree after
amicable negotiations, to include in the County's grade separation
improvement project the relocation of the sanitary sewer and
water mains, as shown on plans prepared by the County.
NOW, therefore, the parties agree as follows:
1. This work involves the relocation of 1728 ft. - 12 in.
water main, 40 ft. - 8in. water main, 15 ft. - 6 in.
water main, 1459 ft. - 15 in. sanitary sewer, 185 ft.- 12
in. sanitary sewer and 110 ft. - 8 in. sanitary sewer,
along with associated valves, vaults and manholes as
listed in the bid items. These utilities will be located
within the north Right of Way along Lake -Cook Road, from
Deerlake Road to Lake Cook Plaza. A section of the
sanitary sewer will be located within a permanent Slope
and Utility Easement. All of the work, will be done by
the COUNTY as part of their grade separation project.
2. The total cost for the aforesaid work as bid by the
contractor is $233,150. After completion and inspection
of the work, the County will submit a statement to the
Village for one -third (1/3) of the total cost and a state-
ment for one third (1/3) for each of the next two
successive years.

3. Payment shall be by check, payable to the Treasurer of
Cook County for deposit in the County's Motor Fuel Tax
Account 600 -570, sent (or delivered) to the County
Superintendent of Highways. The Village agrees to accept
full responsibility for the maintenance of the relocated
sanitary sewers and the water mains in question. This
Agreement constitutes the permit for same.
IN WITNESS Whereof the COUNTY and VILLAGE have caused this
Agreement to be executed by their respective officials on the dates
as shown.
