WHEREAS, the Fourth of July is a time celebrate our freedom and
demonstrate our pride in the United States of America; and
WHEREAS, since 1964, thousands of Deerfield residents have enjoyed a
communitywide celebration known as Family Days which includes fireworks, parade,
games, food and entertainment; and
WHEREAS, the success of this annual celebration requires countless
hours of hard work and the generosity of individuals, local businesses and community
organizations; and
WHEREAS, the Deerfield Family Day Committee, with strong support
from the Deerfield Lions Club, takes on the tremendous task of organizing Family
Days:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND
BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD that, thanks to the
efforts of the Deerfield Family Day Committee, the Deerfield Lions Club, and all
other contributors to Family Days, the goal of its founders has been realized and even
surpassed. Deerfield residents are provided fun for the entire family and are able to
share in the pride of our nation and our community.
