RESOLUTION OBJECTING TO AN APPLICATION FOR
REZONING OF THE THORNGATE PARCEL
PURSUANT TO THE LAKE COUNTY ZONING ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, the Applicant, pursuant to Docket No. 2887, has petitioned the Zoning
Board of Appeals of Lake County for rezoning from Countryside / /Agricultural (C) District
and the Neighborhood Conservation /Suburban Residential (NC /SR) Zone to the Suburban
(S) District, Urban (U) District and the Neighborhood Conservation/ Community Business
(NC /CB) Zone, of approximately one hundred and fifty acres of land located on the west
side of Sanders Road and south of Deerfield Road (commonly known as the Thorngate
Parcel); and
WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals of Lake County conducted a public hearing
on said application on January 8, 1992, said hearing having been continued to February 12,
1992, February 26, 1992, March 18, 1992 and April 8, 1992; and
WHEREAS, the proposed rezoning would affect an area of unincorporated Lake County
lying adjacent to and within one and one -half miles of the corporate limits of the Village
of Deerfield, a zoned municipality; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield are of the
opinion that the granting of said application would be contrary to the best interest of the
Village of Deerfield and of the community, generally, in that the proposed rezoning would
result in the development of Applicant's property without regard to the health, safety and
general welfare of the Village of Deerfield;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS:
SECTION That the Village of Deerfield, pursuant to Chapter 34, Section 5- 12014,
ONE: Illinois Revised Statutes 1989, hereby protests and objects to the rezoning
of the subject property (commonly known as the Thorngate Parcel) to the
Suburban (S) District, Urban (U) District and the Neighborhood Conservation /Community
Business (NC /CB) Zone as petitioned in Docket No. 2887.
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to forward a certified copy of this
TWO: Resolution to the Lake County Zoning Board of Appeals, the Board of
Commissioners of Lake County, the County Clerk of Lake County and, by
certified mail, to the Applicant and to Counsel for the Applicant.
