AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE
SIGNAGE PLAN FOR WALGREENS CORPORATE CAMPUS
(200 -304 WILMOT ROAD)
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Deerfield held a public hearing on October 25,
2007 to consider the application of Walgreens (the "Applicant ") to amend the signage plan for the
Walgreens corporate campus at 100, 200, 300, 302 and 304 Wilmot Road, legally described on Exhibit A
attached hereto (the "Subject Property") for: (1) approval of a new 552 square foot wall sign consisting of
the wording "Walgreens" for the west wall of the building at 200 Wilmot Road facing the Illinois Tollway
to replace an existing wall sign; (2) approval of a new 32 square foot (on each side) double -sided ground
sign consisting of the Walgreens mortar. and pestle logo at the 200 Wilmot Road building facing the
Illinois Tollway to replace an existing ground sign at said location; (3) approval of a new 87.5 square foot
(on each side) double -sided ground sign containing the wording "Walgreens Corporate Campus" at the 200
Wilmot Road building facing Wilmot Road to replace an existing ground sign facing Wilmot Road at said
location; (4) approval of a modification to allow the new wall sign proposed for the west wall of the 200
Wilmot Road building facing the Ill. inois Tollway to exceed the maximum surface area permitted for a wall
sign fronting a public street, public right- of.way or easement for access or parking; and, (5) approval of a
sign modification to allow the new wall sign proposed for the west wall of the 200 Wilmot Road building
facing the Illinois Tollway to be located above the parapet line (roof deck) of the roof of said building;
and,
WHEREAS, said public hearing was held pursuant to public notice duly given as required
by law and conforming in all respects, in both manner and form, with the requirements of the Zoning
Ordinance of the Village of Deerfield; and,
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission, after considering the proposed amendments to the
approved signage plan for the Subject Property, the proposed sign modifications and the evidence
and supporting materials offered at said public hearing, has submitted its written report and
recommendation to the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield that an
amendment to the approved signage plan for the Subject Property be approved as an amendment to
the Special Use Planned Unit Development of the Subject Property in the I -1 Office, Research and
Restricted Industrial District, and that sign modifications should be further approved to allow the
proposed 522- square foot wall sign to be placed on the west wall of the 200 Wilmot Road building
facing the Illinois Tollway and to allow said wall sign to be located above the parapet line of the
roof of the building; and,
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield find that.an
amendment to the approved signage plan for the Walgreens corporate campus should be approved
for the Subject Property authorizing and approving the following: (1) a new 552 square foot wall
sign consisting of the wording "Walgreens" for the west wall of the building at 200 Wilmot Road
facing the Illinois Tollway to replace an existing wall sign; (2) a new 32 square foot (on each side) .
double -sided ground sign consisting of the Walgreens mortar, and pestle logo at the 200 Wilmot
Road building facing the Illinois Tollway to replace an existing ground sign at said location; (3) a
new 87.5 square foot (on each side) double -sided ground sign containing the wording ".Walgreens
Corporate Campus" at the 200 Wilmot Road building facing Wilmot Road to replace an existing

ground sign facing Wilmot Road at said location; (4) a modification to allow the new. wall sign
proposed for the west wall of the 200 Wilmot Road building facing the Illinois Tollway to exceed
the maximum surface area permitted for a wall sign fronting a public street, public right -of -way or
easement for access or parking; and, (5) approval of a sign modification to allow the wall sign
proposed for the west wal l of the 200 Wilmot Road building facing the Illinois Tollway to be located
above the parapet line (roof deck) of the roof of said building, all in accordance with and to the
extent depicted in the plans, documents and supporting exhibits presented by the Applicant and
attached hereto as Exhibit B hereof,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, in
the exercise of its home rule powers, as follows:
SECTION 1: That the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield do hereby
find that the requested amendment to the approved signage plan for the Subject Property fully
complies with the requirements and standards set forth in Article 9.02 -C PUD and in Article 13.11
of the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Deerfield;
SECTION 2: That an amendment to the approved signage plan for the Subject Property is
hereby authorized and approved as an amendment to the Special Use Planned Unit Development of
the Subject Property in the I -i Office, Research and Restricted Industrial District authorizing and
permitting: (1) a new 552 square foot wall sign consisting of the wording "Walgreens" for the west
wall of the building at 200 Wilmot Road facing the Illinois Tollway to replace an existing wall sign;
(2) a new 32 square foot (on each side) double -sided ground sign consisting of the Walgreens mortar
and pestle logo to be located at the 200 Wilmot Road building facing the Illinois Tollway to replace

an existing ground sign at said location; (3) approval of a new 87.5 square foot (on each side)
double -sided ground sign containing the wording "Walgreens Corporate Campus" to be located at
the 200 Wilmot Road building facing Wilmot Road to replace an existing ground sign facing Wilmot
Road at said location, all in accordance with the plans, drawings and. supporting exhibits listed on
Exhibit B attached hereto.
SECTION 3: That a modification from the regulations set forth in Article 9, Signs, of the
Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Deerfield, is hereby authorized and approved for the Subject
Property to permit an increase in the area of the west wall sign facing the Illinois Tollway at the 200
Wilmot Road building and consisting of the wording "Walgreens" is hereby approved to permit an
increase in the area of said wall sign to 522 square feet (48' 6" long by 10' 9" high) in accordance
with the plans, drawings and supporting exhibits listed on Exhibit B attached hereto;
SECTION 4: That a modification from the regulations set forth in Article 9, Signs, of the
Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Deerfield is hereby authorized and approved for the Subject
Property to permit the wall sign facing the Illinois Tollway on the west wall of the building at 200
Wilmot Road to be located above the parapet line (roof deck) of the roof of said building in
accordance with the plans, drawings and supporting exhibits listed on Exhibit B attached hereto;
SECTION 5: That the approval and authorization of said amendment to the Special Use
Planned Unit Development of the Subject Property and the approval of said modifications to the sign
regulations set forth in Article 9 of the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Deerfield are hereby
granted subject to the following conditions, regulations and restrictions: (i). that the construction,
maintenance and use of the signs hereby approved shall be in accordance with the supporting
documents, materials and exhibits attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit B; (ii) except as

otherwise provided herein, the construction, development, maintenance and use of the Subject
Property shall be in accordance with the final development plan heretofore approved as a Special
Use Planned Unit Development of the Subject Property in the I -1 Office, Research and Restricted
Industrial District, including the signage plan for the Subject Property as hereby amended; (iii)
continued compliance by the Applicant with all other applicable provisions of the Zoning Ordinance
of the Village of Deerfield;
SECTION 6: That the amendment to the approved signage plan for the Subject Property
hereby approved and authorized as an amendment to the Special Use Planned Unit Development of
the Subject Property shall be binding upon and inure to the benefit of Applicant and Applicant's
successors, grantees, transferees and assigns, and any violation of the conditions hereinabove set
forth by Applicant or its successors, grantees, transferees or assigns shall authorize the revocation of
the amended Special Use hereby authorized.
SECTION 7: That.the Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to record this
Ordinance in the. office of the Recorder of Deeds of Lake County, Illinois, at Applicant's expense.
SECTION 8: That this Ordinance, and each of its terms, shall be the effective legislative act
of a home rule municipality without regard to whether such Ordinance should: (a) contain terms
contrary to the provisions of current or subsequent non - preemptive state law; or, (b) legislate in a
manner or regarding a matter not delegated to municipalities by state law. It is the intent of the
corporate authorities of the Village of Deerfield that to the extent that the terms of this Ordinance
should'be inconsistent with any non = preemptive state law, this Ordinance shall supersede state law
in that regard within its jurisdiction.

SECTION 9: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage,
approval and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.

Populating the Channel Letter
Populating a ohannel totter with ChanneLED4 is as easy as pooling the line; off Ina
mounting tape and firmly pressing the light modules in the desired locations.
NOTE- Bending surface should be clean and dry
To determine opera the light modules should be placed and how many to use, SloanLED
offers the following guidelines: (Results may vary based an lens selection and letter
construction).
1. ChanneLED4 modules are designed to be place in rows:
a. ChonneLED4 Long rriodufes should have a 2' spacing behveen modules
whin the row. This will result in 2 modules per foot.
b. ChannelED4 Short nodules should have a 2.5' spacing between modules
within the row. This will result in 3 modules per foot.
C ChaRnel.ED4 Qeol Colors (Blue and Green.) should have a spacing of 1,5'
between modules with in the row. This will result in 3 modules por toot.
2. ChanneLED4 modules are designed to cover a stroke vridth of 5" in a channel letter
(tatter depth 4" to 10') Letlers with a 5' stroke width ar smaller should have one row
of ChannoLED4 modules. Lehats with a stroke width largar than 5` would have
multiple rows placed 4" to 5' an center as needed to cover the entire stroke vAdih.
3. When alt rnadules are in place, the secandary output from the power supply can be
connected. Multiple letters in a sign can be connected to the power supply in parallel
or series. However. for large letters with more than 45 mcdules or letters wired in
series with more than 45 modules, connect the power supply lead to the middle Of
the series instead of the end. Use UL listed wire nuts or UL listed insulation
Displacement Connectors to make this connection and to cap off the open ends of
the row.

ORDINANCE NO. 0 -07 -39
AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE
SIGNAGE PLAN FOR WALGREENS CORPORATE CAMPUS
(200 -304 WILMOT ROAD)
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Deerfield held a public hearing on October 25,
2007 to consider the application of Walgreens (the "Applicant') to amend the signage plan for the
Walgreens corporate campus at 100, 200, 300, 302 and 304 Wilmot Road, legally described on Exhibit A
attached hereto (the "Subject Property ") for: (1) approval of a new 552 square foot wall sign consisting of
the wording "Walgreens" for the west wall of the building at 200 Wilmot Road facing the Illinois Tollway
to replace an existing wall sign; (2) approval of a new 32 square foot (on each side) double -sided ground
sign consisting of the Walgreens mortar and pestle logo at the 200 Wilmot Road building facing the
Illinois Tollway to replace an existing ground sign at said location; (3) approval of new 87.5 square foot
(on each side) double -sided ground sign containing the wording "Walgreens Corporate Campus" at the 200
Wilmot Road building facing Wilmot Road to replace an existing ground sign facing Wilmot Road at said
location; (4) approval of a modification to allow the new wall sign proposed for the west wall of the 200
Wilmot Road building facing the Illinois Tollway to exceed the maximum surface area permitted for a wall
sign fronting a public street, public right -of -way or easement for access or parking; and, (5) approval of a
sign modification to allow the new wall sign proposed for the west wall of the 200 Wilmot Road building
facing the Illinois Tollway to be located above the parapet line (roof deck) of the roof of said building;
and,
WHEREAS, said public hearing was held pursuant to public notice duly given as required
by law and conforming in all respects, in both manner and form, with the requirements of the Zoning
Ordinance of the Village of Deerfield; and,
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission, after considering the proposed amendments to the
approved signage plan for the Subject Property, the proposed sign modifications and the evidence
and supporting materials offered at said public hearing, has submitted its written report and
recommendation to the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield that an
amendment to the approved signage plan for the Subject Property be approved as an amendment to
the Special Use Planned Unit Development of the Subject Property in the I -1 Office, Research and
Restricted Industrial District, and that sign modifications should be further approved to allow the
proposed 522- square foot wall sign to be placed on the west wall of the 200 Wilmot Road building
facing the Illinois Tollway and to allow said wall sign to be located above the parapet line of the
roof of the building; and,
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield find that an
amendment to the approved signage plan for the Walgreens corporate campus should be approved
for the Subject Property authorizing and approving the following: (1) a new 552 square foot wall
sign consisting of the wording "Walgreens" for the west wall of the building at 200 Wilmot Road
facing the Illinois Tollway to replace an existing wall sign; (2) a new 32 square foot (on each side)
double -sided ground sign consisting of the Walgreens mortar and pestle logo at the 200 Wilmot
Road building facing the Illinois Tollway to replace an existing ground sign at said location; (3) a
new 87.5 square foot (on each side) double -sided ground sign containing the wording "Walgreens
Corporate Campus" at the 200 Wilmot Road building facing Wilmot Road to replace an existing

ground sign facing Wilmot Road at said location; (4) a modification to allow the new wall sign
proposed for the west wall of the 200 Wilmot Road building facing the Illinois Tollway to exceed
the maximum surface area permitted for a wall sign fronting a public street, public right -of -way or
easement for access or parking; and, (5) approval of a sign modification to allow the wall sign
proposed for the west wall of the 200 Wilmot Road building facing the Illinois Tollway to be located
above the parapet line (roof deck) of the roof of said building, all in accordance with and to the
extent depicted in the plans, documents and supporting exhibits presented by the Applicant and
attached hereto as Exhibit B hereof,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, in
the exercise of its home rule powers, as follows:
SECTION 1: That the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield do hereby
find that the requested amendment to the approved signage plan for the Subject Property fully
complies with the requirements and standards set forth in Article 9.02 -C PUD and in Article 13.11
of the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Deerfield;
SECTION 2: That an amendment to the approved signage plan for the Subject Property is
hereby authorized and approved as an amendment to the Special Use Planned Unit Development of
the Subject Property in the I -1 Office, Research and Restricted Industrial District authorizing and
permitting: (1) a new 552 square foot wall sign consisting of the wording "Walgreens" for the west
wall of the building at 200 Wilmot Road facing the Illinois Tollway to replace an existing wall sign;
(2) a new 32 square foot (on each side) double -sided ground sign consisting of the Walgreens mortar
and pestle logo to be located at the 200 Wilmot Road building facing the Illinois Tollway to replace

an existing ground sign at said location; (3) approval of a new 87.5 square foot (on each side)
double -sided ground sign containing the wording "Walgreens Corporate Campus" to be located at
the 200 Wilmot Road building facing Wilmot Road to replace an existing ground sign facing Wilmot
Road at said location, all in accordance with the plans, drawings and supporting exhibits listed on
Exhibit B attached hereto.
SECTION 3: That a modification from the regulations set forth in Article 9, Signs, of the
Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Deerfield is hereby authorized and approved for the Subject
Property to permit an increase in the area of the west wall sign facing the Illinois Tollway at the 200
Wilmot Road building and consisting of the wording "Walgreens" is hereby approved to permit an
increase in the area of said wall sign to 522 square feet (48' 6" long by 10' 9" high) in accordance
with the plans, drawings and supporting exhibits listed on Exhibit B attached hereto;
SECTION 4: That a modification from the regulations set forth in Article 9, Signs, of the
Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Deerfield is hereby authorized and approved for the Subject
Property to permit the wall sign facing the Illinois Tollway on the west wall of the building at 200
Wilmot Road to be located above the parapet line (roof deck) of the roof of said building in
accordance with the plans, drawings and supporting exhibits listed on Exhibit B attached hereto;
SECTION 5: That the approval and authorization of said amendment to the Special Use
Planned Unit Development of the Subject Property and the approval of said modifications to the sign
regulations set forth in Article 9 of the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Deerfield are hereby
granted subject to the following conditions, regulations and restrictions: (i) that the construction,
maintenance and use of the signs hereby approved shall be in accordance with the supporting
documents, materials and exhibits attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit B; (ii) except as

otherwise provided herein, the construction, development, maintenance and use of the Subject
Property shall be in accordance with the final development plan heretofore approved as a Special
Use Planned Unit Development of the Subject Property in the I -1 Office, Research and Restricted
Industrial District, including the signage plan for the Subject Property as hereby amended; (iii)
continued compliance by the Applicant with all other applicable provisions of the Zoning Ordinance
of the Village of Deerfield;
SECTION 6: That the amendment to the approved signage plan for the Subject Property
hereby approved and authorized as an amendment to the Special Use Planned Unit Development of
the Subject Property shall be binding upon and inure to the benefit of Applicant and Applicant's
successors, grantees, transferees and assigns, and any violation of the conditions hereinabove set
forth by Applicant or its successors, grantees, transferees or assigns shall authorize the revocation of
the amended Special Use hereby authorized.
SECTION 7: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to record this
Ordinance in the office of the Recorder of Deeds of Lake County, Illinois, at Applicant's expense.
SECTION 8: That this Ordinance, and each of its terms, shall be the effective legislative act
of a home rule municipality without regard to whether such Ordinance should: (a) contain terms
contrary to the provisions of current or subsequent non - preemptive state law; or, (b) legislate in a
manner or regarding a matter not delegated to municipalities by state law. It is the intent of the
corporate authorities of the Village of Deerfield that to the extent that the terms of this Ordinance
should be inconsistent with any non - preemptive state law, this Ordinance shall supersede state law
in that regard within its jurisdiction.

SECTION 9: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage,
approval and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
