RESOLUTION NO. R -89 -8
WHEREAS, the Village of Deerfield, Illinois, is a municipality
exercising Home Rule Powers pursuant to the Constitution of the
State of Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the Corporate Authorities of the Village of Deerfield
have directed the Plan Commission of the Village of Deerfield to
conduct a review of those portions of the Zoning Ordinance of the
Village of Deerfield dealing with the development of lots which use
a strip of land from the rear portion of adjoining lot(s) for access
thereto (hereinafter "Flag Lots "); and
WHEREAS, said undertaking will require a detailed analysis of
existing regulations and the proposals developed by the Plan
Commission as to revisions of such regulations; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the Village of Deerfield
that no proposed Flag Lot developments in the Village of Deerfield
be considered or approved by the Corporate Authorities until receipt
of and consideration of the Plan Commission recommendation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That a moratorium be declared on the acceptance of
ONE: petitions seeking approval of plans for Flag Lot
developments lying within the Village of Deerfield,
pending action by the Corporate Authorities on the above described
Plan Commission recommendation.
SECTION That said moratorium shall remain in full force and
TWO: effect until rescinded by action of the Corporation
Authorities and, in any event, shall terminate
10/17/89 ( 120 ) days from the date hereof unless extended by
action of the Corporate Authorities.
