R-89-06RESOLUTION NO. R -89 -6 WHEREAS, the United States Army Corps of Engineers ( "Corps ") has been authorized under Section 401 of the Water Resources Development Act of 1986 to construct the North Branch of the Chicago River Flood Protection Project; and WHEREAS, said project includes plans for a water retention reservoir within the corporate limits of the Village of Deerfield ( "Village ") located at the southwest corner of Lake Cook and Pfingsten Roads, designated as Site 29A; and WHEREAS, the Corps requires the execution of a Local Cooperation Agreement whereby the Village will provide the local sponsorship requirements needed for the Corps to construct Retention Reservoir No. 29A. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield that: SECTION The Village has reviewed and approves the Local Cooperation ONE: Agreement dated April 10, 1989, between the Department of the Army and the Village of Deerfield, Lake and Cook Counties, Illinois for construction of the Flood Water Retention Reservoir No. 29A on the West Fork of the North Branch of the Chicago River, a Separable Element of the North Branch of the Chicago River Flood Protection Project in Lake and Cook Counties, Illinois. SECTION The Village is willing and able to participate in the flood TWO: control project in accordance with the terms and conditions as set forth in said Agreement. SECTION This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and THREE: after its passage and approval, as provided by law.
