VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS ORDINANCE NO. 0-03-09 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE 9, SECTION 2 -102 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, as follows: SECTION 1: That Section 2 -102, entitled "Establishment of Police Department; Personnel" of Article 9 of the Municipal Code of the Village of Deerfield of 1975, as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by deleting said Section in its entirety and substituting in lieu thereof, the following: "Sec. 2 -102. Establishment of Police Department; Personnel. (a) There is hereby created a Police Department, an administrative department of the Village. (b) The Police Department shall consist of the Chief of Police, who shall be ex- officio Village Marshal, eleven (11) Sergeants, twenty -eight (28) Patrol Officers, and such other employees as may be provided for from time to time by the President and Board of Trustees. The Chief of Police may appoint two (2) of the aforementioned Department members as Deputy Chiefs and six (6) of said Department members as Commanders in the manner provided in Section 2- 105." SECTION 2: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. SECTION 3: That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form. SECTION4: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law. PASSED this 17th day of March , 2003.
