R-87-03I I RESOLUTION NO. 0 -87 -03 WHEREAS, the need for a full Tollway interchange at Lake -Cook Road has been the subject of review and discussion for many years; and WHEREAS, Lake -Cook Road is a four lane arterial highway with average daily traffic of 34,000 vehicles; and WHEREAS, Lake -Cook Road has become and will continue to be a major east -west corridor in this area, providing a vital transportation link to major north - south routes; and WHEREAS, the lack of a Tollway interchange at Lake -Cook Road forces motorists to use interior, residential streets to access the Tollway system; and WHEREAS, said traffic endangers the public health, safety and welfare of said residents; and WHEREAS, preliminary studies and interchange designs have concluded that a full interchange at Lake -Cook Road is both physically and financially feasible; and WHEREAS, it will be a disservice to this area to further delay construction of this much needed public improvement: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF Deerfield , as follows: SECTION That the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority ONE: is hereby requested to take immediate steps to finalize plans for the construction of a full interchange at Lake -Cook Road and the Tollway. SECTION That a certified copy of this Resolution be TWO: forwarded to the Governor of Illinois and to the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority. RESOLVED: This 16th day of February A.D. 1987.
