A RESOLUTION REGARDING A RECREATIONAL SITE
IN THE BRICKYARDS
WHEREAS, the Village of Deerfield (Village) is the owner of public
property in the area commonly referred to as the Brickyards; and
WHEREAS, thirteen (13) acres of said property located north of
Pfingsten Road extended is suitable for public recreational use; and
WHEREAS, the Village wishes to cooperate with the Deerfield Park
District (District) in improving the thirteen (13) acre parcel for both
active and passive recreational activities; and
WHEREAS, conceptual plans for said parcel propose that organized
sporting events including soccer be located there; and
WHEREAS, said proposed improvements would include suitable light
poles for evening sporting events:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS,
as follows:
SECTION The thirteen (13) acre parcel depicted on

public recreational use.
SECTION The Village will enter into negotiations
TWO: for a long term lease with the District
for the use of said land for recreational
purposes.
SECTION A development plan prepared by the District
TREE: for the use of said parcel shall be submitted
jointly by the Village and District for a
Plan Commission public hearing on a Special Use for said site.
SECTION Following an analysis of the costs of said
7MJF -. plan and the financial condition of the Tax
Increment Financial District, the Village
is prepared to commit Tax Increment Financing funds for improving the site
for recreational use.
