A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A STREET SCAPE DESIGN TASK FORCE
WHEREAS, the Village Center Development Commission has recommended, and'
the Mayor and Board of Trustees have agreed that there is a need for a streetscape
plan in the Village Center; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees wish to appoint an-Ad*:Hoc "Task'-Porce
and- establish"their..specific: duties:
NOW-; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, ILLINOIS, as follows:
SECTION The Village Center Streetscape Design Task Force is
ONE: hereby established.
SECTION Said Task Force shall consist of seven (7) members,
TWO: appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent
of the Board of Trustees.
SECTION Appointees shall be chosen from and represent various
THREE: boards, commissions and the business community.
SECTION The Task Force shall develop a preliminary proposal for a
FOUR: streetscape plan for the Village Center.
SECTION Specific duties of the Task Force shall be:
FIVE:
A. Study existing streetscape plans in other com-
munities in order to evaluate the pros and
cons of each.
B. Examine various features of streetscape plans,
including street furniture, signage, landscaping,
lighting and their composition.
C. Prepare a preliminary drawing that will show in
general terms a streetscape plan for Waukegan and
Deerfield Roads within the Village Center boundaries.
D. Recommend means by which features of said streetscape
plan might be incorporated into all four quadrants of
the Village Center on both public and private property.
SECTION The Ad'Hoc Streetscape Design Task Force shall complete its
SIX: preliminary streetscape plan and file a report with the
Mayor and Board of Trustees by January 31, 1988.
RESOLVED this 5th day of October, A.D. 1987.
