AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE 9, SECTION 2 -105 OF
THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD OF 1975
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION This Ordinance is enacted by the Corporate Authorities of the Village of
ONE: Deerfield in the exercise of the Home Rule powers vested in the Village of
Deerfield as a result of its Home Rule status pursuant to the Constitution of
the State of Illinois of 1970.
SECTION That Section 2 -105 entitled "Appointments and Promotions" of Article 9,
TWO: Chapter 2 of the Municipal Code of the Village of Deerfield of 1975, as
amended, be and the same is further amended by adding to that section a new
subsection (d) to read as follows:
(d) "The Roster of Candidates (register of applicants successfully passing
the written and oral examinations) shall be kept in force until the
expiration of twelve (12) months from and after the date of its
posting, or until all persons named thereon have been disqualified, or
offered and have either accepted, refused or failed to accept an offer
of appointment as a probationary police officer, whichever occurs
first. The Board of Police Commissioners may, at its discretion, and
from time to time, extend the length of time any such roster shall
continue in force, by six month extensions, but not to exceed two
extensions."
SECTION That all Ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the
THREE: extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to publish this Ordinance in
FOUR: pamphlet form.
