RESOLUTION NO. R -85 -02
A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF LOCAL BRANCH COURTS
WHEREAS, the residents of the Village of Deerfield are now served by
the Branch Court in the City of Highland Park; and
WHEREAS, said Branch Court has been.operating successfully and has
been an asset.to our area; and
WHEREAS, there is now consideration being given to eliminating
Branch Courts by centralizing the entire court operation'in'the'Ci;ty - of
Waukegan; and
WHEREAS, this would be a disservice to the residents of the Deerfield
area and to the Police Departments which currently use the Branch Court:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, as follows:
SECTION The Highland Park Branch Court should ,
ONE:' continue'to operate and serve the residents
of Southeast Lake County.
SECTION The Lake County Board Members of District 1
TWO: be advised of Deerfield's position in this
important matter.
