AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A SPECIAL USE /UNIQUE USE -
TELECOMMUNICATIONS FACILITY /SPRINT COM. INC. - ONE PARKWAY NORTH
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Deerfield has heretofore held a public
hearing on the application of Sprint Com, Inc. and Carr America, Inc. (collectively, the
"Applicant ") to authorize the use and development of certain property (the "Subject Property")
located within the Village in the I -1 Office, Research, Restricted Industrial District legally
described on Exhibit A hereto as a Special Use/Unique Use, under and pursuant to the provisions of
Article 13.12 to permit the installation of a telecommunication facility as hereinafter more
particularly described on the Subject Property; and
WHEREAS, said hearing was held pursuant to duly published notice thereof and was in all
respects held according to law; and
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Deerfield after considering the evidence
adduced, made written findings of fact and recommended that the Special Use/Unique Use as
proposed by the Applicant be authorized; and
WHEREAS, following consideration of the recommendations of the Plan Commission by
the President and Board, of Trustees, the President and Board of Trustees have considered and
reviewed the proposed and supporting materials submitted and prepared by Applicant, including
the Roof Plan prepared by Telitect Architects/Engineers dated June 20, 1997; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield have
determined that the best interests of the Village will be served by the authorization and granting of
said Special Use/Unique Use in accordance with the plans submitted by Applicant attached hereto
and made a part hereof.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That the President and Board of Trustees do hereby affirmatively find
ONE: that the Special Use/Unique Use as hereby authorized, fully complies
with the requirements and standards set forth in Article 13.12 of the Village
Zoning Ordinance, and the Special Use/Unique Use of the real estate, to permit the installation of a
telecommunication facility as described in Applicant's submission and testimony, subject to certain
conditions as more particularly set forth below, is hereby authorized and approved, including the
Roof Plan proposed by Telitect Arch 1 tects/Engineers dated June 20, 1997.
SECTION That the approval and authorization of said Special Use/Unique Use is

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A SPECIAL USE/UNIQUE USE -

TWO: hereby granted subject to (i) the requirements that all use, construction and
development shall be in accordance with all documentary and exhibit filings
made and the terms of this Ordinance, (ii) all representations submitted and made by the Applicant
to the Plan Commission and President and Board of Trustees, (iii) the agreement by the Applicant
to provide written notice to the Village not less than fifteen (15) days prior to the initiation of any
permitting or licensing process for any similar facility located within one -half mile of the corporate
limits of the Village; and (iv) is also subject to compliance by Applicant with all other applicable
provisions of the Village Zoning Ordinance.
SECTION That the Special Use/Unique Use hereby authorized shall be binding upon
THREE: and inure to the benefit of Applicant's successors, grantees, transferees
and assigns and any violation of the conditions hereinabove set forth by the
Applicant or its successors, grantees, transferees or assigns shall authorize the revocation of the
Special Use/Unique Use hereby authorized.
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to publish this Ordinance in
FOUR: pamphlet form and to record said Ordinance in the Office of the Recorder
of Deeds of Lake County, Illinois at Applicant's expense.

WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Deerfield has heretofore held a public
hearing on the application of JFMC Facilities Corporation, an Illinois not - for -profit corporation
(the "Applicant ") to consider a certain text amendment to the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of
Deerfield relative to permitting an off -site identification/directional sign in the I -1 Office, Research
and Restricted Industrial Zoning District as a Special Use upon certain conditions and in certain
circumstances; and
WHEREAS, said hearing was held pursuant to duly published notice thereof and was in all
respects held according to law; and
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Deerfield, after considering the
evidence adduced, made written findings of fact and recommended a text amendment to the
Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Deerfield to achieve the objective sought by the Applicant;
and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield have
determined that the recommendation of the Plan Commission will serve the best interests of the
Village of Deerfield.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That a new Article 9.02 -C,9 be included as part of the Zoning Ordinance
ONE: of the Village of Deerfield, as amended, as follows:
"9. Off -Site Identification/Directional Signage for Residential
Assisted Living Facilities in the I -1 Office, Research and Restricted
Industrial District.
Off -site signs shall be limited to Identification/Directional entry
signs subject to the following:
a. Number and Content

identification/directional entry sign at each entrance into the
Planned Unit Development. Such sign shall indicate only

AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN LAND
TO THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, the Corporate Authorities of the Village of
Deerfield have caused the publication of a Notice setting forth
the intention of the Village of Deerfield to annex certain
territory pursuant to the authority set forth in Chapter 65,
Section 5/7 -1-13 (Ill. Comp. Stat.); and
WHEREAS, said territory.is not within the corporate limits
of any municipality, is contiguous to the.Village of Deerfield
and is wholly surrounded by the Village of Deerfield and the
Village of Riverwoods and consists of less than 60 acres.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That all the territory described on Exhibit "A"
ONE: attached hereto and made a part hereof, and as
shown on an accurate map of such territory which
is attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit "B" ( "Plat.
of Annexation "), be and the same is hereby annexed to the Village
of Deerfield, Lake and Cook Counties, Illinois.
SECTION That the Village Clerk of the Village of
TWO: Deerfield is hereby directed to file in the
office of the Recorder of Deeds of Lake County,
Illinois, being the County in which said territory is situated, a
copy of this Ordinance, together with a Plat of Annexation of the
territory hereby annexed.
SECTION That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
THREE: effect from and after its passage and approval
and when a copy thereof with the Plat of .
Annexation is recorded in the office of the Recorder of Deeds,
Lake County, Illinois, thereupon said territory shall be subject
to the jurisdiction and ordinances of the Village of Deerfield,
Illinois.
