AN ORDINANCE AMENDING PORTIONS OF ARTICLE 5
OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Deerfield has heretofore held a public
hearing on the application of the Corporate Authorities of the Village of Deerfield (the
"Applicant ") to consider a certain text amendment to the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of
Deerfield relative to the elimination and/or reclassification of certain uses as Class B Special Uses
in the C -1 Village Center District; and
WHEREAS, said hearing was held pursuant to duly published notice thereof and was in all
respects held according to law; and
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Deerfield, after considering the
evidence adduced, made written findings of fact and recommended certain text amendments to the
Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Deerfield to achieve the objective sought by the Applicant;
and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield have
determined that the recommendation of the Plan Commission will serve the best interests of the
Village of Deerfield.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That Article 5.01 -B of the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Deerfield,
ONE: as amended, be and the same is further amended by deleting Subsections
5.01- B,l,mm and 5.01- B,l,ddd therefrom.
SECTION That Article 5.01 -C,1 of the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Deerfield,
TWO: as amended, be and the same is further amended by revising Article 5.01 -
C, l,d to read as follows:
"d. Beauty shops, except those beauty shops and/or cosmetic
supply stores which sell products which can only be purchased by a
customer possessing a state license."
SECTION That Article 5.01 -C,2,a of the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of
THREE: Deerfield, as amended, be and the same is further amended by adding
Subsections (5), (6) and (7) as follows:

"(5) Tobacco shops.
(6) Liquor stores and liquor sales areas included as accessory
uses in food or drug stores.
(7) Coffee shops, tea shops, bagel shops and similar operations,
subject to all zoning regulations applicable to restaurant uses."
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to publish this Ordinance in
FOUR: pamphlet form.
SECTION That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
FIVE: passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
