AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 18 OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD (TAXI CABS)
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That Section 18 -34 "Schedule of established rates of fare and charges" of
ONE: Chapter 18 of the Municipal Code of Deerfield of 1975, as amended, be
and the same is hereby further amended by deleting said Section in its
entirety and substituting in lieu thereof the following:
"Section 18 -34. Notice of established rates of fare and charges.
Each taxi cab company licensed by the Village of Deerfield shall
provide a complete rate schedule to the Village of Deerfield. Not
less than seven (7) days prior to any change in any portion of the
rate schedule by any licensee, said licensee shall file a schedule of
the proposed rate changes with the office of the Village Manager."
SECTION That Section 18 -34A, "Senior Citizen and Handicapped Citizen Special
TWO: Rates ", is hereby added to Chapter 18 of the Municipal Code of Deerfield
of 1975, as amended, as follows:

"Sec. 18 -34A Senior Citizen and Handicapped Citizen Special
Rates.
Any resident of the Village of Deerfield who qualifies for a
Senior Citizen or Handicapped Citizen Transportation Pass for use
by participating taxi services as determined by the Regional
Transportation Authority may:
(a) Receive taxi coupons from the Village of Deerfield
in the face amount of $3.25 for use in taxicab travel
within and beyond the corporate limits of the
Village of Deerfield. The rate of fare for such trips
within the Village of Deerfield shall be one coupon
plus $.50. In the event the destination is beyond the
Village corporate limits, a single coupon per
passenger may be applied against the meter rate and
the remaining balance shall be paid by the
passenger. In the event of a shared ride with one or

two other qualifying passengers, each passenger
shall pay one coupon and the $.50 surcharge shall
be divided equally between two passengers, and in
the case of three passengers, each shall pay a $.20
surcharge.
(b) Travel between the Village of Deerfield and the
Highland Park Hospital and Professional Building
shall be one coupon plus $4.25. In the event of a
shared ride with one or two qualifying passengers,
each passenger shall pay one coupon and the $4.25
surcharge shall be divided equally among the
passengers."
SECTION That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the
THREE: extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to publish this Ordinance in
FOUR: pamphlet form.
SECTION That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after June 1,
