WHEREAS, the Village of Deerfield is a Home Rule Municipality
exercising Home Rule powers pursuant to Article VII of the Constitu-
tion of the State of Illinois of 1970; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 3 of the Village of Deerfield Municipal Code of
1975, as amended, regulates the licensing and the regulation of
establishments serving alcoholic beverages; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 3, Section 3 -26, the Village
President as Local Liquor Commissioner, is given powers with respect
to the revocation or suspension of liquor licenses; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 43 of the Illinois Revised Statutes establishes
procedures for the revocation or -- suspension of local licenses by the
Local Liquor Commissioners; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 43, Section 153 of the Illinois Revised Statutes
permits Home Rule Municipalities -of less than 500,000 inhabitants to
establish certain recording procedures in the case of hearings with
respect to liquor license revocation or.suspension actions conducted
by Local Liquor Commissioners.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That a Certified Court Reporter or Certified Shorthand
ONE: Reporter shall prepare a Certified Official Record of
any and all liquor license revocation or suspension
hearings conducted pursuant to notice by-the Local Liquor Commis-
sioner of the Village of Deerfield.
SECTION That in the event an appeal from any decision of the
TWO: Local- Liquor.Commissioner is brought before the State
of Illinois Liquor Commission, the Certified Official
Record described in Section -One above shall be filed by the Local
Liquor Commissioner within five days after notice of filing such
appeal as the Official Liquor License Hearing Transcript of the
hearing before the Local Liquor Commissioner.
SECTION That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect
THREE: from and after its passage in the manner provided by
law.
