A RESOLUTION ADOPTING RULES, REGULATIONS AND
PROCEDURES WITH RESPECT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT
WHEREAS, the Illinois Legislature has adopted an amendment to
Chapter 116, Section 43.101, et seq. of the Illinois Revised Statutes
(the "Local Records Act ") enacting the Illinois Freedom of Informa-
tion Act ( "Act ") effective as of July 1, 1984; and
WHEREAS, the Act establishes certain procedures to be followed
by municipalities with respect to insuring the availability of
information to the public; and
WHEREAS, in order to advance the legislative goals of the Act in
that all persons may receive full and complete information regarding
the affairs of government and the official acts and policies of those
who represent them as public officials and public employees, the
Village has promulgated certain rules, regulations and procedures
with respect to the implementation of the Act which rules, regula-
tions and procedures are attached hereto as Exhibit A and made a
part hereof.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CORPORATE AUTHORITIES OF
THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION That the rules, regulations and procedures attached
ONE: hereto as Exhibit A'with respect to the implementation
of the Act within the corporate limits of the Village
of Deerfield are hereby adopted and approved.
SECTION That the Village Manager be directed to implement the
TWO: aforementioned rules, regulations and procedures with
respect to the Act within the corporate limits of the
Village of Deerfield.
SECTION That the Village'Manager be and is .hereby directed to
THREE: publish said rules, regulations and procedures and to
perform any and all such other acts as he may deem
appropriate to insure compliance by the Village of Deerfield, its
public officials and employees with respect to the Act.
