AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 18 -34 OF CHAPTER 18
OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD OF 1975
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION That Section 18 -34 "Schedule of established
ONE: rates of fare and charges" of Chapter 18 of
the Municipal Code of Deerfield of 1975, as
amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by deleting
said'Section in its entirety and substituting in lieu thereof the
following:
"Sec. 18 -34. Schedule of established rates of fare
and charges.
No owner or driver of a taxicab shall charge a
greater sum for the use of a taxicab than in
accordance with the following rates:
(a) $1.20 flag or demand charge;
(b) $2.50 for the first mile and $.20 for each
additional 1/8 miles or fraction thereof;
(c) $.50 for each additional passenger to the
same destination, excluding children under
twelve (12) years of age when accompanied by
an adult; and
(d) $18:50 for each hour of waiting time; such
waiting time shall begin five (5) minutes
after arrival at the place to which the
taxicab has been called.
(e) $5.00 minimum charge for orders between
eight o'clock (8:00) P.M. and six o'clock
(6:00) A.M.
(f) The charge displayed on the meter shall
include both the established charge mileage
rate and the waiting time in one total
figure.
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to
TWO: publish this ordinance in pamphlet form.
SECTION That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
THREE: conflict herewith are, to the extent of such
conflict, hereby repealed.
