AN ORDINANCE AMENDING PORTIONS OF ARTICLE 9
OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Deerfield has
heretofore held a public hearing on the application of Deerfield
Federal Savings of the Village of Deerfield to consider certain
text amendments to the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of
Deerfield relative to signage on automatic teller machines in
commercial districts; and
WHEREAS, said hearing was held pursuant to duly published
notice thereof and was in all respects held according to law; and
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Deerfield,
after considering the evidence adduced, made written findings of
fact and recommended certain text amendments to the Zoning
Ordinance of the Village of Deerfield; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Deerfield have determined that the recommendations of the Plan
Commission will serve the best interests of the Village of
Deerfield.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That Article 9.02 -B of the Zoning Ordinance
ONE: of the Village of Deerfield, as amended, be and
the same is further amended by adding a new
Article 9.02 -B, 3 as follows:
113. Automatic Teller Machines, freestanding.
a. Main Identification Sign
(1) Number and Content
One main sign shall be permitted on
a freestanding automatic teller
machine. Said sign shall indicate
only the name of the financial
institution and /or name of the
automatic teller machine system.

(2) Type and Location
The identification sign may consist
of lettering or signage panels
mounted directly onto the machine.
Said sign may be located on any
side of the machine.
(3) Area
The main identification sign may
not exceed nine (9) square feet in
area including the area of the
entire signage panel itself.
b. Minor Identification Sign
(1) Number and Content
One minor sign shall be permitted
on a freestanding automatic teller
machine. Said sign shall indicate
only the name of the financial
institution and /or name of the
automatic teller machine system.
(2) Type and Location
The identification sign may consist
of lettering or signage panels
mounted directly onto the machine
itself. Said sign may be located
on any side of the machine other
than the side of the machine on
which the main sign is located.
(3) Area
The minor identification sign may
not exceed three (3) square feet in
area including the area of the
entire signage panel itself.

C. Operations /Instructional Signs
Any number of operations /instructional
signs shall be permitted on the machine
itself provided such signage is
displayed strictly to guide the public
in the operation of the machine. In no
event shall any one sign exceed two (2)
square feet in size."
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed
TWO: to publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form.
SECTION That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
THREE: effect, from and after its passage, approval and
publication, as provided by law.
