AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 16 -1 of CHAPTER 16 OF
THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD OF 1975
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That Section 16 -1 entitled, "BOCA Basic Plumbing
ONE: Code Adopted" be amended by deleting such Section
in its entirety and substituting in lieu thereof
the following:
"Sec. 16 -1. BOCA Basic Plumbing Code
Adopted.
(a) There is hereby adopted by the President
and Board of Trustees for the purpose of
establishing rules and regulations for the
construction, alteration, installation, location,
maintenance and repair of plumbing facilities
within structures located within the Village, that
certain Plumbing Code known as the BOCA Basic
Plumbing Code of 1981, save and except such
portions as are hereinafter deleted, modified or
amended, of which not less than three (3) copies
have been and are now filed in the office of the
Department of Building and Zoning of the Village,
and that the same is hereby adopted and
incorporated as fully as if set out at length
herein, and from the date on which this ordinance
shall take effect, the provisions thereof shall be
controlling within the corporate limits of the
Village. Further, all construction, alteration,
and repair of plumbing facilities within the
Village shall also be in compliance with the water
conservation requirements imposed by the Village
Lake Michigan water allocation permit as
promulgated from time to time by the Illinois
Department of Transportation, Division of Water
Resources, of which not less than three (3) copies
have been and are now filed in the office of the
Department of Building and Zoning of the Village.
(b) Notwithstanding Subsection (a) hereof, all
new buildings located within the Village of

Deerfield which are occupied below grade level
shall have overhead plumbing."
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to
TWO: publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form.
SECTION That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
THREE: effect from and after its passage, approval and
publication as provided by law.
