ORDINANCE NO. 0 -93 -36
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2 -104 OF CHAPTER 2 OF
THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD OF 1975
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That Subsection (b) of Section 2 -104 entitled,
ONE: "Chief of Police" be amended by deleting such sub-
section in its entirety and substituting in lieu
thereof the following:
"(b) The Chief of Police shall be appointed
by the President by and with the advice and
consent of the Board of Trustees. Following the
appointment of the Chief of Police as aforesaid,
the Chief of Police shall report to the Village
Manager as provided in Section 2 -66 of this Code.
In the event that any person appointed Chief of
Police was at the time of such promotion a member
of the department, he shall retain his status and
rank while serving as Chief of Police and shall
revert to such status and rank when his term of
Chief of Police has ended."
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to
TWO: publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form.
SECTION That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
THREE: effect from and after its passage, approval and
publication as provided by law.
