AN ORDINANCE AMENDING PORTIONS OF ARTICLE 5
OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Deerfield has
heretofore held a public hearing on the application of Thomas
Zengeler (the "Applicant ") to consider a certain text amendments
to the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Deerfield relative to
permitting a drive through facility for a dry cleaning and
laundry establishment in the C -2 Outlying Commercial District as
a special use upon certain conditions and in certain
circumstances; and
WHEREAS, said hearing was held pursuant to duly published
notice thereof and was in all respects held according to law; and
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Deerfield,
after considering the evidence adduced, made written findings of
fact and recommended certain text amendments to the Zoning
Ordinance of the Village of Deerfield to achieve the objective
sought by the Applicant; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Deerfield have determined that the recommendation of the Plan
Commission will serve the best interests of the Village of
Deerfield.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That Article 5.02 -C,2 of the Zoning Ordinance
ONE: of the Village of Deerfield, as amended, be
and the same is further amended by adding a
new article 5.02 -C,2,f to read as follows:
"F. Drive through facility operated in
connection with dry - cleaning and laundry
establishments."
SECTION That Article 5.02 -G,5 of the Zoning Ordinance
TWO: of the Village of Deerfield, as amended, be
and the same is further amended by deleting
said Article and substituting in lieu thereof,
the following:
"5. Restriction on Sales and Services
Involving Parked Motor Vehicles
No business establishments, except restaurants
with drive through facilities as permitted in
accordance with Article 5.02- C,1,d, automobile
service stations, drive -in bank facilities, or
dry cleaning and laundry establishments

when authorized as Special Uses, shall offer
goods or services directly to customers
waiting in parked motor vehicles or sell
beverages or food for consumption off the
premises or on the premises in parked motor
vehicles."
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed
THREE: to publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form.
SECTION That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
FOUR: effect, from and after its passage, approval
and publication, as provided by law.
