AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE 2 OF CHAPTER 15 OF
THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD OF 1975
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That Article 2 of Chapter 15 of the Municipal Code
ONE: of the Village of Deerfield of 1975, as amended,
be and the same is further amended by adding thereto Section .
15 -23.2 in as follows:
"Section 15 -23.2. Sales of Tobacco or Smokeless
Tobacco to Minors Prohibited.
No minor under 18 years of age shall buy any
cigar, cigarette, smokeless tobacco or
tobacco in any of its forms, unless upon the
written order of the minor's parent or
guardian. No person shall sell, buy for,
distribute samples of or furnish any cigar,
cigarette, smokeless tobacco or tobacco in
any of its forms, to any minor under 18 years
of age, unless upon the written order of the
minor's parent or guardian or unless sold in
the presence of such parent or guardian.
For the purpose of this Section, "smokeless
tobacco means any tobacco products that are
suitable for dipping or chewing."
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to
THREE: publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form.
SECTION That all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in
FOUR: conflict herewith are to the extent of such
conflict hereby repealed.
