AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 14 ENTITLED "LICENSES"
OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD OF 1975
WHEREAS, the Corporate Authorities of the Village of Deerfield
have deemed it to be in the public interest to maintain a current
register of businesses operating within the Village for purposes
of police protection, provision of public services and maintenance
of accurate financial data,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That Chapter 14, "Licenses" of the Municipal Code
ONE: of the Village of Deerfield of 1975, as amended, be
and the same is hereby further amended by adding
thereto Section 14 -16 as follows:
"Sec. 14 -16. Business registration. Each business
either currently operating or hereinafter beginning
operation within the Village of Deerfield, whether
or not subject to any other licensing requirement
established by the Municipal Code shall, within
seven (7) days of the receipt of notice of the
imposition of this requirement or the subsequent
inception of business within the Village of
Deerfield, register with the office of the Village
Manager at the Village Hall. The registration form
will provide for identification of the location of
the business, a description of the nature of the
business conducted and the names and addresses of
the operators of the business. In the event that
either the location of the business or its nature
shall change, the operator of the business is
required to so notify the Village Manager within
thirty (30) days of the occurrence of such event.
Failure to comply with the provisions of this
section shall subject any violator to the general
penalty provisions of the Municipal Code set forth
in Section 1 -25."
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to publish
