A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT.OF THE EXTENSION
OF PFINGSTEN ROAD NORTH OF LAKE -COOK ROAD
WHEREAS, Pfingsten Road is a major thoroughfare under the jurisdication of
the Illinois Department of Transportation; and
WHEREAS, the northern terminus of Pfingsten Road is at its intersection with
Lake -Cook Road within the corporate limits of the Village of Deerfield; and
WHEREAS, in order to serve and facilitate the increased office and commercial
development in that portion of the Village, the extension of Pfingsten Road north of
Lake -Cook Road is in..the best interest of both the public as.a whole and.the nearby
private landowners; and
WHEREAS, the Cook County Highway Department, the agency having jurisdiction
over Lake -Cook Road, has agreed in concept to the above described roadway extension;
and
WHEREAS, pursuant to an agreement between the Village of Deerfield and the
Illinois Department of Transportation, a portion of said property is reserved for the
construction of a water retention basin:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS
SECTION.. The Illinois Department of Transportation - Division of
ONE: Water Resources be requested to agree to amend its existing
agreement with the Village of Deerfield to provide the
required 80' right -of -way to extend Pfingsten Road north of Lake -Cook Road, as shown
on the attached Exhibit A.
SECTION That the Illinois Department of Transportation- Division of
TWO: Water Resources be requested to cooperate fully with the
Village of Deerfield and the Cook County Highway Department
to expedite the design and construction of the roadway improvement.
SECTION That the Village Clerk be directed to transmit a certified
THREE: copy of this Resolution to the Illinois Department of Trans-
portation - Division of Water Resources and.the Cook County
Highway Department.
