AN ORDNANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 7 -77.2, 7 -77.4,
7 -77.5 and 7 -77.14 OF CHAPTER 7 OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD OF 1975
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That Section 7 -77.2 "Purpose and definitions" of

as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended
by deleting subsection (b)(5) in its entirety and substituting in
lieu thereof the following:

"(5),The term "automatic dialing device" refers to an
alarm system which automatically sends over telephone
lines a prerecorded voice message indicating the
existence of the emergency situation that the alarm
system is designed to detect."
That Section 7 -77.2 "Purpose and definitions" of
Chapter 7 of the Municipal Code of Deerfield of 1975,
as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended
subsection (b)(20) in its entirety and renumbering the
subparagraphs (20), (21) and (22) in lieu of subparagraphs
and (23).

That Section 7 -77.4 "Automatic dialing service;
interconnection to primary trunklines" of Chapter 7 of
the Municipal Code of Deerfield of 1975, as amended, be
is hereby further amended by deleting said Section in
and substituting in lieu thereof the following:
"Sec. 7 -77.4. Automatic dialing device; prerecorded
voice messages prohibited. Any automatic dialing
device transmitting a prerecorded voice message into
the Police Department or to a telephone line directly
serviced by telephone company operators to be
'responded to by members of the Police Department is
prohibited."
SECTION That Section 7 -77.5 "Automatic dialing service;
FOUR: standards "of the Municipal Code of Deerfield of 1975,
as amended, be and the same is hereby repealed in its
entirety.
SECTION That Section 7 -77.14 "False alarms" of Chapter 7 of
FIVE: the Municipal Code of Deerfield of 1975, as amended,
be and the same is hereby further amended by deleting
subsection (a) thereof in its entirety and substituting in lieu
thereof the following:

MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD OF 1975
"(a) The occurrence of any false alarm from any alarm
system for which an alarm permit has been obtained
may constitute grounds for revocation of such
permit unless the alarm user pays the Village,
after each such occurrence, according to the
following schedule:
1 -3 alarms ........................$ 25.00 each
4 -6 alarms ........................ 50.00 each
7 -9 alarms ........................ 75.00 each
10 or more alarms ................. 100.00 each
All trouble alarms ................ 10.00 each
All alarms repair calls........... no charge"
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to publish
SIX: this Ordinance in pamphlet form.
SECTION That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
SEVEN: herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby
repealed.
SECTION That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
EIGHT: from and after its passage, approval and publication,
as provided by law.'
