ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 22, ARTICLE 12
OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF DEERFIELD OF 1975
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That Section 22 -80 entitled "Penalty" of Article 12,
ONE: Chapter 22 of the Municipal Code of the Village of
Deerfield of 1975, as amended, be and the same is
further amended by adding thereto the following:
"The Village Attorney is hereby empowered to file a
civil action to recover any penalty or fine for the
violation of any ordinance contained in Article 12
hereof. Pursuant to Chapter 24, Section 1 -2 -9.1 of
the Illinois Revised Statutes, in all actions for
violation of the Municipal Code of the Village of
Deerfield wherein the fine for said violation would
not be in excess of Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) and
no jail term could be imposed, service of Summons may
be by certified mail, return receipt requested,
whether service is to be.within or without the state.
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to publish
TWO: this Ordinance in pamphlet form.
SECTION That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
THREE: from and after its passage, approval and publication
as provided by law.
