RESOLUTION NO. 0 -82 -11
A RESOLUTION OBJECTING TO AN APPLICATION FOR A VARIATION AND
A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT PURSUANT TO THE LAKE COUNTY ZONING ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, the Applicant, pursuant to Docket No. 2614, has petitioned the
Zoning Board of Appeals of Lake County to consider the issuance of a Conditional
Use Permit for the property described in Docket No. 2614 to construct and operate
five (5) radio transmission towers, each not to exceed 150 feet in height; and
WHEREAS, the Subject Property is situated in the middle of the Illinois
Toll Highway right -of -way and immediately adjacent to an extensive Office- Research
park -type development and residential area within the Corporate Limits of the
Village of Deerfield; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield
are.of 'the opinion that the granting of said application would be contrary to the
best interests of the Village of Deerfield and of the community, generally, in that
the proposed Conditional Use would result in the development of the subject property
without regard to the character of and compatibility of surrounding and nearby
properties; and
WHEREAS, the proposed Conditional Use would constitute an unsightly intru-
sion into a campus -type development of architecturally award - winning structures and
an adjoining fine single - family residential neighborhood, and would establish a
use having a height of 150 feet, well in excess of any existing development in
proximity to the subject property; and
WHEREAS, the proposed Conditional Use would depreciate the value of neigh-
boring properties and may adversely affect electronic equipment and radio and
television reception; and, further, that such proposed use would not comply with
the standards for conditional uses established by the Lake County Zoning Ordinance:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That the Village of Deerfield, for the reasons indicated
ONE: above, hereby protests and objects to the granting by the
Zoning Board of Appeals of Lake County of the relief
requested in Docket No. 2614.
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to forward a
TWO: certified copy of this Resolution to Zoning Board of
Appeals of Lake County, the Lake County Board and the
County Clerk of Lake County.
