AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLES 4 AND 5
OF CHAPTER 2 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF
THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD OF 1975
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
.SECTION That Section 2 -50 entitled "Appointment of Village
ONE: Clerk; term" of Chapter 2 of the Municipal Code of the
Village of Deefield of 1975, as amended, be and the
same is further amended by deleting said section in its entirety and
substituting in lieu thereof the following:
"Section 2 -50 Appointment of Village Clerk;
The office of Village Clerk is hereby established.
The office of Village Clerk shall be held by the
Village Manager who shall in addition to his other
duties perform the duties of that office."
SECTION That Section 2 -51 "General Duties of the Village Clerk;
TWO: compensation" of Chapter 2 of the Municipal Code of
the Village of Deefield of 1975, as amended, be and the
same is further amended by deleting said section in its entirety and
substituting-in lieu thereof the following:
"Section 2 -51 General Duties of the Village Clerk
The Village Clerk shall perform such duties as may be
prescribed by statute, by this Code or by ordinance."
SECTION That Section 2 -66 "Powers and Duties of the Village
THREE: Manager" of Chapter 2 of the Municipal Code of the
Village of Deefield of 1975, as amended, be and the
same is further amended by adding thereto subsection 14, as follows:
"(14) The Village Manager shall perform all of the
duties of the office of Village Clerk."
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to publish

SECTION That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect

as provided by law.
