ORDINANCE NO. 0 -86 -54 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING PORTIONS OF ARTICLE 9 OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Deerfield has heretofore held a public hearing on the application of AMERICAN NATIONAL BANK AND TRUST COMPANY OF CHICAGO, as Trustee under the provisions of a Trust Agreement dated August 1, 1984, and known as Trust Number 61840, AMERICAN NATIONAL BANK AND TRUST COMPANY OF CHICAGO, as Trustee under the provisions of a Trust Agreement dated January 1, 1985, and known as Trust No. 63290, AMERICAN NATIONAL BANK AND TRUST COMPANY OF CHICAGO, as Trustee under the provisions of a Trust Agreement dated January 1, 1985, and known as Trust No. 63291 and AMERICAN NATIONAL BANK AND TRUST COMPANY OF CHICAGO, as Trustee under the provisions of a Trust Agreement dated January 1, 1985, and known as Trust No. 63292 (collectively, the "Owners "), and LAKE COOK /TOLLWAY ASSOCIATES, an Illinois limited partnership and CHARLES H. SHAW COMPANY (collectively the "Developers ") (the Owners and Developers are hereinafter referred to as "Applicant ") to consider a certain text amendment to the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Deerfield relative to permitting signs on the I -1 Office, Research, Restricted Industrial District as a special use upon certain conditions and in certain circumstances; and WHEREAS, said hearing was held pursuant to duly published notice thereof and was in all respects held according to law; and WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Deerfield, after considering the evidence adduced, made written findings of fact and recommended a text amendment to the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Deerfield to achieve the objectives sought by the Applicant; and WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield have determined that the recommendation of the Plan Commission will serve the best interests of the Village of Deerfield. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION That Article 9.2 -3,5,b of the Zoning Ordinance of the ONE: Village of Deerfield, as amended, be and the same is further amended by deleting in its entirety subsection (1)(b) and substituting in lieu thereof the following: "(b) Hotel Entry Sign. The maximum surface area for a hotel entry sign shall not exceed twenty -nine (29) square feet." ORDINANCE NO. 0- 86 -54 SECTION ' That Article 9.2 -3,5,a of the Zoning Ordinance of the TWO: Village of Deerfield, as amended, be and the same is further amended by deleting in its entirety subsection 1(b) and substituting in lieu thereof the following: "(b) Hotel Entry Sign. Not more than one (1) wall sign shall be permitted designating/ identifying the main entrance to the hotel, and additional signs designating /identifying a secondary entrance shall be permitted as necessary." SECTION That Article 9.2 -3,5,c of the Zoning Ordinance of the THREE: Village of Deerfield, as amended, be and the same is further amended by deleting in its entirety subsection 1(b) and substituting in lieu thereof the following: "(b) Hotel Entry Signs. A hotel entry wall sign may be located at the main entrance to the hotel either on the wall above the entrance or on a canopy over the entrance, and a hotel entry wall sign designating /identifying a secondary entrance may be located above or beside the secondary entrance." SECTION That Article 9.2 -3,5,b of the Zoning Ordinance of the FOUR: Village of Deerfield, as amended, be and the same is further amended by deleting in its entirety subsection 1(a) and substituting in lieu thereof the following: "(1) Wall Signs (a) Hotel. The aggregate maximum surface area for all wall signs facing a limited/ controlled access highway shall not exceed two hundred (200) square feet." SECTION That Article 9.2 -3,5,b of the Zoning Ordinance of the FIVE: Village of Deerfield, as amended, be and the same is further amended by deleting in its entirety subsection 2(b) and substituting in lieu thereof the following: "(b) Limited /Controlled Access Highway Signs. The maximum surface area shall not exceed one hundred (100) square feet for each exposed face nor exceed an aggregate surface area of two hundred (200) square feet. The distance between sign faces shall not be included within the surface area of the sign." ORDINANCE NO. 0 -86 -54 SECTION That Article 9.2 -3,5,a of the Zoning Ordinance of the SIX: Village of Deerfield, as amended, be and the same is further amended by deleting in its entirety subsection (1)(a) and substituting in lieu thereof the following: "(1) Wall Signs. (a) Hotel. Not more than one (1) wall sign shall be permitted for each hotel side facing a limited /controlled access highway and shall contain only the name and logo of the hotel" SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to publish SEVEN: this Ordinance in pamphlet form.
