AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 18 -20 OF CHAPTER 18 OF
THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD OF 1975
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That Section 18 -20 "Rates of fare" of Chapter 18 of
ONE: the Municipal Code of the Village of Deerfield of
1975, as amended, be and the same is hereby further
amended by deleting said Section in its entirety and substituting in
lieu thereof the following:
"Sec. 18 -20. Rates of fare.
$ 1.15
flag or demand charge for the first 1/6 mile;
.20
for each additional 1/6 mile or fraction
thereof;
.50
for each additional passenger to the same
destination, excluding children under twelve
(12) years of age when accompanied by an
adult; and
16.00
for each hour of waiting time; such waiting
time shall begin five (5) minutes after
arrival at the place to which the taxicab
has been called and shall be defined as:
1. Time consumed while standing at the
direction of the passenger; and /or
2. Any time period during which a taxicab
is travelling at'a speed of less than
ten (10) miles per hour or is stopped.

minimum charge for orders between 8 p.m. and
6 a.m.
The charge displayed on the meter shall include both
the established mileage rate and the waiting time in
one total figure."
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to publish
TWO: this Ordinance in pamphlet form.
SECTION That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
THREE: herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby
repealed.

SECTION That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
FOUR: from and after its passage, approval and publication,
as provided by law.
