AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 15, SECTIONS 15 -54 AND 15 -55
OF THE.MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD OF 1975
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION_ That Section 15 -54 entitled "Weapons, possession,
ONE: discharge; exceptions" of the Municipal Code of the
Village of Deerfield of 1975, as amended, be and the
same is further amended by deleting subsection (a) therein and
substituting in lieu thereof the follows:
"Section 15 -54. W_gapons,__possession., discharge;
exceptions.
(a) No person shall have in his possession, carry or
use except as provided in Subsection (b) a
cannon, gun, pistol, revolver, stun gun or
firearm of any description, a shotgun or rifle
which may be used for the explosion of bullets
and cartridges, or any air -gun, B -B gun,
gas- operated gun or spring- operated gun, or any
instrument, toy or weapon commonly known as a
peashooter, slingshot, beany or throwing star, or
any knife except as may be specifically
hereinafter provided, whether that instrument is
called by any name set forth above or by any
other name."
SECTION That Section 15 -55 entitled "Concealed weapons, bows
TWO: and arrows, high explosive; exceptions" of the
Municipal Code of the Village of Deerfield of 1975, as
amended, be and the same is further amended by deleting subsection
(a) therein and substituting in lieu thereof the following:
"Section 15 -55. Concealed_ weapons, bows, and arrows,
high explosive;__gxcgptions.
(a) No person shall carry in any vehicle or concealed
on or about his person any weapon such as
blackjack, bludgeon, razor, dagger, dirk,
switchblade knife, stiletto, brass or metal
knuckles, throwing star, billy, slingshot, bomb
or high explosive other than fixed ammunition;
nor, without having first obtained a permit as
required by law, any pistol, revolver, stun gun
or other firearms."
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to publish
THREE: this Ordinance in pamphlet form.
SECTION_ That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
FOUR: from and after its passage, approval and publication
as provided by law.
