A RESOLUTION OBJECTING TO AN APPLICATION FOR A
MAP AMENDMENT TO THE COOK COUNTY ZONING ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, the Board of Zoning Appeals of Cook County is presently consider-
ing an application for a map amendment seeking to reclassify the property
described on Exhibit A from the C -3 to the C -4 District; and
WHEREAS, THE Board of Zoning Appeals will be conducting a hearing to
consider said map amendment and will be forwarding its recommendation to the
Cook County Board of Commissioners; and
WHEREAS, the proposed map amendment would affect an area of unincorporated
Cook County lying adjacent to and within one - and - one -half miles of the corpor-
ate limits of the Village of Deerfield, a zoned municipality; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Deerfield
are of the opinion that the adoption of the proposed map amendment reclassify-
ing the Subject Property to the C -4 District would be contrary to the best
interest of the Village of Deerfield and of the community, generally in that
said map amendment could result in the development of Subject Property without
regard for the character and compatibility of surrounding or nearby properties,
particularly the substantial single - family residentially zoned and used areas
of the Village of Deerfield and that due to the great number of permitted uses
in the C -4 District, said map amendment would further tend to attract the
traffic, noise, congestion and other accompanying undesirable features of such
intensive land uses,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION That the Village of Deerfield, pursuant to Chapter 34, Section
ONE: 3158, Illinois Revised Statutes 1979, hereby protests and objects
to the adoption of the map amendment herein described.
SECTION That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to forward a certified
TWO: copy of this Resolution to the Cook County Zoning Board of
Appeals, the Board of Commissioners.of.Cook County and the County
Clerk of Cook County.
AYES: Gavin, Heisler, Marty, Seidman, Swanson, York (6)
NAYS: None (0)
ABSENT: None (0)
PASSED this 2nd day of June A.D., 1980.
