ORDINANCE NO. 0 -84 -25 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 7 -14, 7 -15 AND 7 -17 OF CHAPTER 7 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD OF 1975 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF DEERFIELD, LAKE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION That Section 7 -14 entitled "Definition" of Chapter 7 ONE: of the Municipal Code of the Village of Deerfield of 1975, as amended, be and the same is further amended by deleting said section in its entirety and substituting in lieu thereof the following: "Sec. 7 -14 Definition. Peddler means a person commonly referred to as a peddler or hawker who sells or offers for sale immediate performance of services or goods, wares and merchandise while traveling from house to house or place to place, or who sells or offers for sale and delivery from any vehicle going from place to place immediate performance of services or goods, wares and merchandise to purchasers." SECTION That Section 7 -15 entitled "License required" of TWO: Chapter 7 of the Municipal Code of the Village of Deerfield of 1975, as amended, be and the same is further amended by deleting said section in its entirety and substituting in lieu thereof the following: "Sec. 7 -15 License required. No person shall engage in the business of hawker or peddler of any service, merchandise, article or thing without first having secured a license therefor." SECTION That Section 7 -17 entitled "License fee" of Chapter 7 THREE: of the Municipal Code of the Village of Deerfield of 1975, as amended, be and the same is further amended by deleting said section in its entirety and substituting in lieu thereof the following: "Sec. 7 -17 License fee. The fee for a license for each individual peddler shall be fifty dollars ($50.00) per each two -week period." SECTION The Village Clerk is hereby directed to publish this FOUR: Ordinance in pamphlet form. SECTION That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect FIVE: from and after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
